has any1 been able to beat this solo on legendary? everytime i get to the end where i have to clear the LZ, but guys literally dont stop coming for like 5 minutes and the phantom eventually dies. does any1 have any advice for how to beat this
Use the mantis
Took me 3 or so tries. Once he announces that he’s dropped off the Mantis, you have to hurry to get to it. Once you’re in, go ahead and take out the enemy Phantom from the plateau where you find the Mantis. Then, immediately start fighting your way down the hill to the LZ - you’ll have enemies spawning behind you on the Mantis plateau and will have to turn around and deal with them a couple times on the way down the hill. If you can clear your way down to the LZ area, put your back to the cliff and kill everything that moves. It’ll take some luck, but eventually you’ll get it.
I have I lost the friendly phantom on the first try because I didn’t know we had a mantis. The best strategy is take your time with the enemies. When/if you meet the wraith don’t destroy like the noobs in matchmaking, stun wraith/kill gunner/operate the turret/elite driver jumps out/YOU Drive wraith. Use the wraith untill the mantis shows up and defend the near the cliff while mantis strafing stuns and fuel rods.
Priority of enemies when in mantis are:
Fuel rod elites/grunts
jackals and grunts with plasma pistols
Knights/sword elites in cqc
watchers
If you use this technigue and are not a noob in the mantis you can last till the last ordnance drop or survive till the end.
If you die early use plasma pistol and noob combo the elites and sticky combo the knights. Focus on what can do damage to the ally pahantom and you will outlast them.
Sticky combo: EMP the knights shields and stick them with a plasma nade.

In my second try i decided to capture the wraith intact. I didnt even had to touch the mantis.
