Spartan Ops Episode 3...

…is weak as hell. Between the lame missions and the boring story, this game mode no longer interests me. I realize it’s supposed to be a sort of replacement for Firefight, but 343 messed up one very important thing: YOU DON’T KEEP DUMPING ENEMIES ON THE PLAYER REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT THEY’VE FINISHED THE PREVIOUS WAVE! This is ridiculous!

I’m’a take a break and play some Borderlands 2- give the new DLC a look. At least that’s fun.

Dultan… Metroidkillah could use some new toys…

cool story bro

Taking out phantoms is one of the most boring experiences in H4. They’re just giant floating bullet/rocket sponges that move from one location to another over and over again whilst you pump out damage from slow reloading weapons onto them.

I’m really not sure how anyone at 343 thought that making someone take out 6 in a single mission would be remotely fun.

I’m still waiting for the episode where you could possible fly a pelican :/. My dream will never become true, at least its in the campaign.

Well if they are “Dumping more” on you then you need to kill faster. I have done them all on Legendary and let me tell you that is no boring feet, solo Legendary spartan ops is like running a marathon uphill after you have been up for 3 days eating the last of the worlds supply of twinkies.

how that can be boring is confusing me, unless it was to hard for you then do it on easy.

but it is more realistic of a mode, in fire fight ( that i also loved to play ) i always wondered why they waited to send more people in. If it was a real engagement they would try to drop as many boots on the ground as they can, not wait for you to kill all but 2 of them and then drop a few more.

So i am sorry you feel this way but i hope that spartan ops are here to stay, i for one love every second of it, and my game history will prove that.

I assume you’re referring to Chapter 1, and that mission didn’t bother me too badly- mostly because of the Scorpion tanks that were easily available. No, it’s the two missions in Valhalla that I call -Yoink- on.

That, and the while the videos for the first two episodes were actually really interesting, the third is just… not.

Ok, just watching the opening cinematic for BL2 has me calmed down. I’m a play around a little and then probably slog through the last two chapters of Ep. 3. I think it’s a bad thing that I feel obligated to play, but have no desire to.

Wrong. The problem is never with the player. Ever. I’m sure Legendary is fun for you- a veritable whirlwind of chaos and insanity; but I like to actually be able to sit back enjoy my video games, not be frustrated with them.

I don’t know about you guys but it’s fun. Very very fun and full of experience.

Whatever, I actually enjoyed this episode the most. For starters I liked the fact that there was an overall goal in this episode (killing the spoiler) as opposed to the other episodes where it felt like the missions weren’t connected at all.

I thought Episode 3 was great - in fact, it’s actually gotten me intrigued now and enjoying Spartan Ops. Looking forward for more.

“For Halo Ninja’s Respect”

look i am glad that you found a lvl to play at that is fun for you, but there is no wrong in opinions. I like the the “Veritable whirlwind of chaos and insanity” that is why i play legendary. But the description for legendary says it all. A lot of times on spartan ops in legendary i do it really slow and avoid groups when i can. Pick them off one at a time, unless there hunters then i have found that running right to them then jumping their charge ( and if timed right ) you can then jump off there head do a 360 in air and shoot at their back or stick it. Makes you feel like a bad -Yoink- when you do it. I even was doing it on the spartan ops matchmaking.
every once in a while some one will have a mic and say something. Some times they think im modding, but most of the time they are laughing or asking me how i did it.

Challenge forces you to excel, that is why i like it. You try things that you would never thought of because all other options have failed. But that is just me, if you are happy playing at a lower level then good. I also have times i just want to kill so i put it on easy or normal i see nothing “WRONG” with that as well.

But if it is making you mad at how hard it is you should lower it so you are having fun.
This campaign is right up there with halo 2 hard, so i think that they wanted the reinforcements to drop like they do. It was not an oversight by 343i, it was just a different way to make it more challenging. So Spartan Ops reflects the campaign’s Ethos, one of the ways it does this is by “Dumping” people on you not based on waves( this is not firefight) but based time, just like it would be if it where real. Also 343I has said that Spartan Ops are made for a 4 person team to play, so if your going it solo it should be overwhelming.

As for it is never the player… You are complaining that it is taking to long to kill something and it is stacking tango’s. That tells us that it is to hard for you lower the difficulty. But don’t blame your lack of interest or skill on 343I or other people being wrong, because it is you playing the game they made. They made this part of the game to co-op with 4 people, and so it is going to be harder then even the single player campaign. It is like blaming 343I for not making it where you can be 4vs1 in swat and not win.

I am sorry you don’t like the game, but i am not going to say your wrong about you opinion. It is your choice to play the way you want inside the rules 343I has programed in to the game, and if you don’t like what they did that is fine i respect that.

Good Luck Spartan

I couldn’t agree more but I guess Spartan Ops isn’t for everyone.

Episode 3 has finally a story and the next episodes are hopefully even getting better.

Some don’t like Spartan Ops, but I like it.

I lOVED episode 3. the Valhalla missions were brilliant!

@Rabid Kiwi:
You make a good point, and I admit I made the post while freshly angry. I’m sure a couple more run-throughs will give me the experience I need to remember what is where and when. But I feel I shouldn’t have to put it on “Baby’s First Halo”-difficulty in order to get through a single mission without an absurd number of deaths- and this with being a fairly cautious player. I think a large part of it is because the weapons de-spawn within 10 seconds; meaning, a death is almost a guaranteed loss of a weapon you may have needed.

And for the record, I didn’t think Halo 2’s system of dumping wave after wave of enemies on you was that great, either.

But thanks for the respectfulness, I appreciate it. Props to you.

I like it, but I still want Firefight back. Firefight was a lot of fun and nearly always a (slightly) different experience. Whereas Ops you can (and do) learn by rote.

I like em, to be honest this episode was my favourite because of the narrative.

Episode 3 was by far the best yet, I loved it.

The last Two Giants mission was good, when your in the Mantis, I really enjoyed that (I think when all the Phantoms were coming down they should have also dropped troops and came after you, would have made it more challenging).
I loved the bit when they blew that Covenant cruiser up, looked awesome.

Looking forward to Ep 4 and 5.
