And this is news how? Isn’t most DLC based stuff require an Xbox LIVE Gold account to download?
You do need gold, but season one of spartan ops is included on disc 2, the gold account is just to unlock each ep.

Tell me, where did they say that season one of Spartan Ops was locked on the disc? And here I thought the first 5 missions was on the disc, not the whole first season that 343i keeps claiming that they’ll be working on through out the months, and release them every week as a download.

I don’t remember where i saw it, but 1.5gb of disc two is spops.

For halo, 1.5gb sounds more like the first 1 or 2 episodes, not the whole season, I don’t think the whole season will fit on one or two discs.
Think about it, look at the size of the map packs, that’s just MP maps, halo’s engine stores all of its data in map files, so they are not small.
The first 5 missions are on the disc launch day. Makes sense, seeing as they release episodes every week, and they want people to try it out as soon as possible to get feedback.

that’s incorrect. Nowhere have I read that states anything of the sort.
The spartan ops will all be downloaded from the marketplace when 343i are done with each one.
The first week of spartan ops is on the disc, the weeks after the first week you have to download.
You need gold to play it. You stop paying for gold ops gets blocked. I wish i didnt buy the LE what a joke…
