Spartan Ops seem to be weekly missions designed to be a bonus to the story. I think it would be interesting if we the players shaped how the story went.
Let US call the shots.
For example, let us gte 3 AI spartan teammates (single player) and let us pick them from a pool of candidates. Each one with their own story and their own personality. Also as a PRE-ORDER bonus, lets bring back SGT. Johnson as an unlock-able squadmate or Buck.
With that in mind, we should get FULL control for the mission. Choosing any weapons we want, customizing the squad, (weapons, ablilities, colors), and possibly vehicles if we have the spartan points. (other things might be an ODST back up squad and target locators).
I think if Spartan Ops gives us, the player, more control it will be a VERY immersive and enjoyable experience.

no.
coustmising too much will make it too arcadey, and will not result in having legit “fun”
if someone spawns themselves with a sniper, a SP laser, 4 of each grenade, and give their AI’s all rocket launchers, as well as spawning inside a tank…then where is the challenge?
even on legendary, it’s too easy

Here is the thing though, people should be able to play ANY way they want.
If they want to all have pistols and uber harcore mode, let them.
If people want sniper rifles, let them.
I don’t see the big deal, it is a PERSONAL CHOICE that DOES NOT effect anyone else.

Then make it challenging for yourself, and don’t force other people to play on “super mega hard gold challenge mode” difficulty just because you want the challenge. Firefight in ODST wasn’t exactly great because it was literally the same thing over and over. No customization. Which meant that it got boring, fast. For me anyway.

And they can play any way they want, within reasonable boundaries.
I would like to be able to command my squad to do things if optional so you can say to the AI go and shoot this dude now please.
Also if people want snipers or rockets let them because in real life you would be set down with whatever weapon. You wouldn’t go into a warzone with a pistol and Assault rifle against 10 covenant all with plasma guns
> And they can play any way they want, within reasonable boundaries.
R U serious?
Why not let people play the way THEY want to play?
It doesn’t affect how you play Spartan Ops in any way.
Why do people think it is wrong to play a game differently then they want to?
We as players should be given more choices in things like Spartan Ops to deciding how we want to play. That is called replay ability. No one wants to play the same thing over and over.

i agree with the ODST statement, it was boring as hell. there was only the one side to it, survive. Thats like eating vanilla ice cream your whole life. it may be your favorite but what fun is never having a choice to eat something different.
Why is it so hardlined with some of you? “its has to be this way or it will suck” That kind of one dimensional thinking is setting yourself up for hating the game and everything in life, maybe exercise a little bit of flexiblity, you may surprise yourself.

And you’re right. That’s why they’re releasing new missions monthly and whatnot.
For all we know you can use whatever weapon you want. Don’t understand why we’re arguing about your speculations. If the developers decide it’s reasonable for everyone to spawn with rocket launchers, then I guess it’s reasonable…
But from what I’ve gathered this is a co-op experience based around you and your buds Spartans forming a Spartan team together.
