Spartan Ops: co-op that promotes competition

Hello everyone,

I am fairly new to the forums and look forward to hearing your feedback on this issue.

Despite the repetitive cycle of maps and generic mission scenarios, I personally still enjoy Spartan Ops quite a bit especially as a diversion from competitive MP.

I do not wish to speak for other players out there who enjoy co-operative game types such as Spartan Ops and Firefight, but I am quite curious to find out your perspectives on the nature of Spartan Ops Matchmaking.

Sometimes I find it a dilemma to choose between Spartan Ops Matchmaking and MP because the former does reward you with the most XP but at the same time has several problems that discourage me from coming back to it on a regular basis.

  1. Frequently experiencing bad connection in Spartan Ops Matchmaking.
  2. Poor player etiquette: Idling, Rubberbanding (causing teammates to spawn at the beginning of the level), intentional sabotage (destroying ally vehicles, killing teammates with vehicles, destroying teammates’ auto sentries…etc)
  3. The scoring system promotes competition rather than co-operation.

Assists, deploying regeneration fields, using auto sentries and other actions that benefit the team should be taken into consideration and rewarded accordingly. Likewise, actions that are detrimental to the team should be reprimanded by point deduction.
