(08/28/18 New MCC Update) Spartan Ops On Episode 9 Chapter 1 The Search For Halsey when pressing either of the buttons to reactivate the sentry guns it freezes the game and causes it to crash.
I’m also having this problem. Currently uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that helps, but if not hopefully someone else has a solution.
Clean install was no help, and had the added bonus of erasing all of my Legendary progress – which was everything except Chapter 9 lol
I am also having this issue except mine only crashes on heroic or legendary when both of the turrets get shot down. I have tried reinstalling the multiplayer portion of Halo 4 but that didn’t work so I tried reinstalling all of MCC, that didn’t work either. It is beatable on easy and normal difficulty because I was able to kill them all before they shot down the defense turrets.
Yup, same issue here on Legendary. Whether I press the button to re-activate the turrets or not, the game freezes and crashes. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Problem: Game freezes when you have to reactivate the turrets.
I can shoot down all turrets and progress to the part where you have to reactivate the turrets that shoot the bad guys. I can reactivate 1 turret but after I shoot 4 or 5 of the bad guys, the game freezes (usually when I get sniped).
Please fix so I can complete this achievement.
It wouldn’t be so bad if you didn’t have to noob combo all the elites and knights.
Anyone know if there is a way to beat this mission on Legendary and somehow avoid the bug?
Halo3Hunter113 said the crash is probably tied to the enemies destroying your defense turrets, but can anyone confirm that?

Can you just quickly activate both turrets to skip the freeze and crash?
HelioMaxx, I’m gonna experiment with this mission a bit, to try and understand the problem better.
I’m also really eager to get the achievement, and Spartan Ops has already consumed my weekend lol. It would be really frustrating for this bug to stop us, so lets find a way around it xD
I wonder if this glitch happens during Coop? Obviously the mission needs to be beatable in singleplayer, but Coop could be a good way of testing the glitch. Anyone want to try it with me?

Tried to play the mission a 3rd time…
The game freezes and crashes when you kill enough crawlers to trigger the dialog…
“They’re flanking you!”
And that’s it.
Try it again but I’m pretty sure there’s no way to beat it since it’s based on a triggered kill count and dialog. It’s not exactly like you can speed run through these missions.
343 needs to get in on this and fix this bug!
I’ve spent the last 2 weeks faithfully working on these pointless solo missions. It would have been a lot more fun as a co-op. I think someone messed up making these achievements. Regardless, I have 49 missions complete and haven’t tried this mission co-op yet. It’s going to be fun to get back to playing with friends.
I never want to use the noob combo again after this!
Playing solo I’ve tried it 3 times on Legendary, and once on Heroic. Like you said the crash seems tied to killing those crawlers, so its probably impossible to avoid 
Overall though, I do agree the solo legendary Spartan Ops achievement is tedious. Spartan Ops is like 2-3 times longer than a standard campaign, and its a lot less enjoyable. Plus in Spartan Ops almost every enemy has a Fuel Rod, and the Noob Combo truly becomes the only playstyle that works.

You can’t delete posts, just please keep it in my for the future.
Just tried the mission in 2 player splitscreen and found that it still crashes the game. Maybe online Co-op could be different, but I highly suspect that it is impossible to complete Spartan Ops on Legendary or Heroic at the moment. Playing on Normal works just fine, but that doesn’t really help the situation.
If this ever gets fixed I hope one of us will notify everyone in the thread, that would be exciting news! I am so glad that 343 is working on the game again.

Having this issue as well I’ve played up to the defensive turret 6 times it crashes every single time, PLEASE fix this issue 343! Episode 9, Chapter 1
