Spartan Ops BS

So far, my only complaint about Halo 4 is Spartan Ops. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a cool idea, especially with the campaign being a bit shorter than it usually is. My problem is you have to have Gold to play it at all, even solo or locally. I have friends who come over to my place to play firefight on Reach, and we were so excited to try Spartan Ops. Now we find out that to play it we not only have to be connected to XBL, but if we want to earn achievements or use custom armor or ANYTHING, we have to ALL have Gold? I don’t really understand why we have to be connected to the internet just to play them. I understand LIVE is fairly cheap, but I honestly don’t think it’s fair I have to pay to access part of the game I paid for that can be played solo. What’s next, you have to have LIVE gold just to play campaign?

They said before launch that Spartan ops was required to have gold.

Trust me you’re not missing much anyways. 5 min super easy missions that are impossible to lose due unlimited lives and instant spawns. Super boring. It feels like this mode was made for people who are really bad at video games.

You do realize Spartan Ops ties into Campaign right? It happens 6 months after it.

How is you’re point relevant to my statement?

A mission is as long as a MP match usually, we were told far in advance that we would need gold to play it. Its fun, its amazing, its a great idea.

We need to make a way to make these actually worth playing, outside of the copious amounts of unearned XP ladled out. My friends and I who are far from great halo players absolutely BLITZED all five missions on legendary. Give us a set number of lives. Pound us into submission with harder enemies. Please. The community has 10+ years of experience of slaughtering flood and enemies with canned animations. Don’t pander to us, 343. Bring it on.

my only complaint is the first season is on disc, but cannot be unlocked without XBL gold. Hmm. K. Bio Shock 2 On disc DLC anyone?

Would be fine with the rest being Proper DLC though

The whole first episode takes place right as the Infinity gets to Requiem, which is right after Chief lands on it. So no.

Are you stupid?

they made it gold only because they are still making it, and as they are giving it away for “free” for the next 9 weeks, they have to make some money for it. This is a Microsoft game after all.

The first episode takes place after the New Phoenix incident. Meaning after Halo 4. The episode cinematic even says ‘6 months later’. So no.

Because your post states you have infinite lives and you respawn. I stated it ties into the Campaign, it had nothing to do with multiplayer at all.
