I will be extremely disappointed in the studio if they fail to deliver a playable co-op. Bungie failed miserably in this department, and there’s no excuse for it. The worst thing that could happen is that this awesome co-op mode is plagued by old issues. They’ve retooled almost everything, so I hope it’s damn near perfect. Other games do it easy. I realize the co-op isn’t everything, but I refuse to accept yet another broken co-op from the Halo series.
With no dedicated servers, expect craptastic results.
Firefight online was -Yoinking! laggy!
I know what you mean… And I too hope it won’t suck, but with a complex a.i. system it’s very hard to get everything to squeeze through a standard connection, all we can do is hope for the best…
If they keep using that terrible Asynchronous network model, you can bet my left nut it’ll still be horribly laggy.
I don’t know if they can fix it, either, because that’s a core element of the Halo engine.
I’ll probably play it alone anyway. None of my friends play Halo.
That may be, but remember they are doing everything from scratch, including networking…
I agree, they have had the same problem with every single halo co-op I have played over live. Wether it be co-op campaign, or firefight. I would be a huge fan of replaying the campaign with my friends and enjoy having fun with spartan ops if there isnt the game crippling button lag that never ceases to exist.
I mean, they did do the servers for Halo CEA and anyone who played that online with their friends knows that if your not host… your -Yoinked-
I got my fingers crossed but I have my doubts wether or not they will fix it, I dont even know if they are aware of the problem
The said their netcode is very well. They didn’t need ded servers . Hope for the best. I think they will actually put much support behind this.
