Spartan Ops AND Firefight

I know Spartan Ops in Halo 4 had some obvious flaws, however, I was still a big fan of the story that went along with it. I feel like some simple improvements to the gameplay and level design will make it 10x better than it was. That being said, I really missed firefight in Halo 4. In ODST and Reach, I had a blast fighting countless waves of enemies with friends. I would love to see firefight make a return to Halo 5, maybe with some additional features. So what do you guys think of having both Firefight AND Spartan Ops in Halo 5 Guardians? I don’t know how hard it would be for 343 to include both game modes in Halo 5, but the Xbox One is a lot more powerful than a 360, so it seems like a possibility. And there would be a lot more content to keep the population as a whole playing Halo 5. Let me know what you think, and what improvements you would like to see on both game types!

<div>I hope we will see both Spartan Ops and Firefight 3.0 in Halo 5 Guardians. </div><div></div><div>Firefight should return with more customization than before. Since matchmaking in halo 4 and probably halo 5 will be a simulation, why not have firefight be a simulation? And if firefight is a simulation, why not have enemy variants from previous games. Like re-add skirmishers, drones, brutes, halo 3 jackals and grunts. This includes all game enemy armors and variants. And the flood. Simulate what drop ship comes in or drop pod. The spirit, the phantom, and liche. Add prometheans/forerunners. Also add all weapons in any halo game. It’s a simulation. …why not? </div><div></div><div>As for Spartan ops…make it more enjoyable. Not just going and pressing buttons. </div><div></div><div>The two game modes can coexist. Let’s just hope 343i actually listens</div>

Meh, in this fight between coke (firefight) and pepsi (Spartan ops) I’d rather have a root beer (something else that more substantially fills the same niche.)

Hmm… That’s Interesting! Do you have anything in mind?

Conquest mode. You start a campaign and play through a series of battles set around board-game style territory control against an AI. Each location represents a given map and the circumstances of attack and defense, and of other factors (randomized and at the player control), setup what you do on that map. So you have a mix of “defend the station” and “assault the control room” as an organic process that varies between subsequent campaigns (which can be further improved by variable starting conditions). You can also include cinematics at the start and finish, as well as potentially around critical objectives that you must take or hold in order to win/proceed.

DLC could easily include new campaigns, as well as new elements to use for existing campaigns (weapons, vehicles, bonuses, ect.)

Sounds really cool! That can introduce very interesting gameplay mechanics and can incorporate story into it. I want to play it now!

Lets cut them both out and maybe a m.m.o. / r.p.g. where we can develope our own story in the HALO universe

That would also be pretty sweet! The stories I could tell!

Would definitely like to see firefight make a return for Halo 5.
