More of a single to co-op player and was wondering if Spartan OP provides enough content after the supposed short Campaign?
Was thinking of grabbing Halo 4 on games on demand given that Spartan OP missions are “free” with Gold

Spartan Ops is definitely a fun experience if you play with friends/family. Still, you need to have an open mind due to the reused environments, but I always find myself having a good time while playing them and always look forward to the next episode!

This about sums it up
The maps are free if you wait a bit… I think spartan ops is cool, I get to show off my FOTUS armor
I think the campaign itself is worth it (especially if you are big halo fan) and spartan ops is just a little bonus. The campaign is short but not too short and it also depends what difficulty you play it on, epic nonetheless.
I love the spartan ops. Its like finishing the story of the game and finding out that you still have a whole fresh new story line to go thru.
Some of the environments are recycled which does not bother me too much.
I play spartan ops solo and it keeps me entertained.

Yeah, campaign was absolutly amazing. I know alot of people were disappointed about the ending, but the campaign was so cool that even the ending didn’t ruin it for me. And spartan ops is a cool bonus so that you can keep fighting the covenant. I only wish that if you reach level 130 and defeat the campaign on Mystic mode that you can play as a spartan II, not a IV or speacialization. I know they have Master Chief armor but I wish they can have a specialization sort of thing that lets you be a Spartan II.
The campaign is good and a fair challenge.
However, if your decision hinges on the quality of spartan ops, I cannot encourage your purchase.
Are the maps original or pulled from the campaign?
> Are the maps original or pulled from the campaign?
There are many recycled maps from the campaign and from multiplayer maps, but also new ones just for spartan ops. And all maps are used more than once (and some even more than twice) in several missions, most of the missions are go here go there objectives with loads of enemies to kill, with the exception of a few that offer something unique. They are all tailored to cooperative play, so if you play single player you still get loads of enemies as in cooperative play.
It seems like you are basing your purchase around spartan ops, I find that kinda silly when there is an awesome campaign to be played that outweighs spartan ops significantly. Like I said in an earlier post, spartan ops is a good bonus aside from the campaign.
They should have kept + improved firefight, and made Spartan Ops dlc so they wouldn’t have to reuse the same crap a million times.
IMO
EDIT: no.
Spartans OPS is great and this subject isn’t about FireFight don’t go off topic.
If they can get us off Requiem in Season 2 and out into the Halo Universe then YES. If not… no it’s not worth it if you’re wanting Season 1 unless you can get 6-10 then it get’s slightly better.

Who’s going off topic? everything I said was directly related to the OT.

Same here
Well he is talking about purchasing Halo 4 to play Spartan OPS and FireFight isn;t included with Halo 4.
When one talks about recycled maps and complains about It but talks about something that has more limited maps… Oh how I…
I like spartan ops. I hope the concept evolves slowly. It’s basically a fairly new concept, there hasn’t been many games that have done that this way as far as I know so it’s interesting. It is fun but I do hope it evolves and becomes better over time of course. I hope there is a season 2 and I can’t wait for episode 10!

Yeah, the re-used environments represent Spartan Ops’ worst quality. I mean, it’s completely unsatisfactory. It’s free, though, with the purchase of the game, so it’s not that bad, I guess.

Honestly, read title and made quick assumption of the thread, I’ll redact my previous statement then good sir.
I’m tired…
leave me alone…
:c
The CGI story parts are simply amazing and if you like Halo for more than just multiplayer a must have if you ask me.
As for the gameplay it’s really geared for 3 or 4 player coop so use the matchmaking systems or friends to play it that way. Also the first few episodes are a bit lacklustre but the later episodes are just fantastic.
There are 10 episodes each with 5 chapters. Each episode has about one 5-7 minutes story CGI and each chapter (being your playable mission) on solo heroic is about 12-20 mins but with coop play it’s more like 5-15mins on legendary with competent players.
It’s the fresh weekly content both story and gameplay wise that I really enjoy. I can’t wait for Season 2.
