Spartan MJOLNIR armors in prolog = inaccurate

In the flashbacks of Dr. Halsey in the intro of Halo4,
all Spartan-IIs (including Master Chief) wore the
updated Mark 6 from the game instead of the Mark IV
from Halo Wars or Halo Legends(the package)/ Halo4:Forward unto dawn series.
It’s kinda weird that Master Chief appears in the updated Mark 6
armor suit despite Dr. Halsey never seen that one as it got upgraded
by Cortana when he was asleep from 2553 ro 2557.
Also,Mark IV MJOLNIR did not have any energy shielding yet.
This is quite a canon break. Did Frank O’Connor missed that out?

Yeah we know, 343 got lazy and just used the same cheif model. Should be MkIV but 343 fans will say its still awesome sauce.

lol IMO this game missed on almost everything

Not sure what exact points your referencing since you didn’t feel like adding a video with timestamps to check out…

Also, Spartans were around before shields were invented.

They where never scared of breaking canon before, so it didn’t suprise me when is saw the many errors in the Halo 4.

Another thing that’s not correct is that Spartan II’s where deployed in secret during the beginning of the covenant war. It was only later on that they where openly deployed like that, so depending on the exact time of these battle shots that’s another error. Although one I’m more willing to overlook than the error you pointed out with the Mjolnir armor.

It’s called retconning. Every major fiction piece does it.

I wanted to see those spartan IIs with their old Mark IV armor. I personally dislike the masterchief’s current armor, he looks skinny and makes his head look big.

I was thinking the exact same thing, I thought it was like present day but then she talks about the past and I am like WTH.

> It’s called retconning. Every major fiction piece does it.

The point is, 343i said they were making a Halo for the fans and following their Halo Bible. Neither of these things happened.

I disagree but I won’t convince people on the Internet.

343 has shown with halo 4 that they want to abandon all of their old fans and they only want casuals to play their game, so they changed the spartans’ armor in the first cutscene so the casuals could understand the story.

I don’t think 343 were trying to make a statement with the armor those Spartans are wearing in the Prologue.

They just got lazy, and its not the only time, nothing more than that.

You forgot that they had shields in the Prologue, which isn’t accurate as well.

Unless I’m mistaken.

It’s correct, Mark IV should not have shields. I had accepted the custom Chief armor we see as simple resource saving when producing all this CGI, but after watching the prologue again, it seems the shield flare was a overlook.
