Not necessarily. Douglas had his helmet knocked off and crushed by Atriox and the Master Chief has had more armour changes than the Kardashian’s have had plastic surgery.
My point is, in the two years Halo: Infinite takes place, Locke could have new Spartan armour.
If I had to guess, Locke probably has a new gen 3 suit by now. I doubt they’d just kill him off that fast.
My guess would probably be some sort of badge of honor. To show off your feats in the battlefield or maybe intimidation tactics. But we´ll find out in a few months time

But then who would be around to tell the Chief that they’d thought he’d be taller??
Is Locke dead? Not likely. Is he prominently featured in Infinite? Also pretty unlikely.
I have seen some speculating on Infinite based on these mega constructs… I wouldn’t put to much faith in they are some sort of leak or teaser for infinite. They could be but as secretive as they seem to be being on infinite I find it unlikely… Although I could be wrong.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they killed him onscreen because of his reception.
I feel quite confident that he will either already be dead when Infinite starts or die quite early on. It’s a good decision in so many ways if you ask me.
Hyperius would not put a Spartan helmet on his shoulder if he hadn’t killed the Spartan, and there is no doubt that is Lockes Helmet.
It is a good thing because:
- It gives depth and actual meaning to playing as Locke in Halo 5, something I felt was little of before. And honestly I think this makes Locke more interesting if anythign.
- Build up the/a new bad guy and make Hyperius interesting.
- 343’s way of saying, we are not making another Halo 5 ever again, this was a bad character, let the past die.

It would be really unfortunate if getting rid of Locke as a character is 343i’s way to appease some fans that didn’t agree with playing as him & Osiris, rather than Chief & Blue Team in HALO 5. What is worse would be the idea Locke & his fireteam were introduced just to sacrifice in order to make the Banished appear more BADAZZ. Especially, knowing they won’t dare put Blue Team at risk. It’s bad enough people want Palmer dead just for making a joke directed at MC_ Now the ONLY black guy’s gotta go, too?! …That’d be pretty -Yoink-!

Well considering thats exactly what they did with the didact and black team when he said nothin personnel kid *teleports behind you I wouldn’t say its unlikely
Keep in mind that with merchandise before game launch is that it may be edited a lot and it may just be a miscommunication between MEGA and 343. There are many explanations, but it’s better for the game to explain everything as this could just be another Spartans helmet if its really in game. It could also be a thing halo lets you decide like how people say Captain Rex is the old guy at the battle of Endor, but it’s not really specified.

No, probably like with Atriox he got beat and scurried away. The team has potential and since it 343i golden boys of the SIVs they aren’t going to die.

I really hope they don’t kill Spartan Locke off that was one of my favorite new characters. Kill Palmer or somebody else not Locke.
