Is it me or is the laser almost impossible to get kills with. In warzone if I hit any vehicle it doesn’t destroy them unless they are already being lit up and I’m trying to get kills in Fiesta right now to no avail. Hitting people directly with it. Is it bad or just me haha
If you’re trying to complete the commendation, then now is the best time to formulate a strategy.
I hated the Spartan Laser so much that I had a very strict set of guidelines for bringing it out.
I would only bring it out on Noctus or Stormbreak. I’d only bring it out if the other team had a warthog or wraith on the map. Scorpion was less secure and was only a bonus if I had ammo left.
When I bring out the Laser, I make sure there is a pretty healthy chunk of damage already applied to the target. This all requires a ton of camping and watching. I’d usually camp safely at home base, or in Stormbreak in the garage area of the Fortress. No other areas. On Noctus I only camped at the Base.
It requires a lot of being a giant loser and waiting around for the perfect conditions.
Go learn the weak spots of each vehicle, it will help you immensely on the Laser. There’s a video on youtube that shows all the weak spots.
yeah lasers for me drop so infrequently in req packs, fiesta is my only way, and that is impossible

I’ll have to check that video out. Just drives me nuts when you you hit a warthog dead on and it drives away.

It’s not you. It’s the weapon. The versions of the Spartan Laser from Halo 3 and Halo Reach are how the weapon should perform. An enemy ghost, warthog, banshee, mongoose should always explode upon direct contact with a Spartan Laser shot.
The Spartan laser does seem to need a serious buff against vehicles. The balance is wrong, the requirement to charge and accurately hit should be paid off with a instant kill!
I’ve noticed that it’s when your hitting a fast-moving target that it doesn’t insta-kill. I’ve hit so many Banshees, Spartans, Warthogs that have all survived the shot even if they’re on a sliver of health when moving around sprinting speed. For some reason this doesn’t happen when they’re near motionless…
come on now, i have had no trouble with laser kills. honestly the scorpion and scout hog are the only things i haven’t insta killed. make sure you aim at the vehicle weak spot, it honestly pays off alot. With banshees, make sure you drop the shield first then laser them.
also i usually just have a regular laser against regular to mid tier vehicles. the ultras and oni vehicle can obviously survive a laser but it will still -yoink- them up.
You might get more kills with endgame. It does less damage so it’s not ideal for heavy vehicles but will still tear a ghost or warthog up. The reduced charge time and greater battery life make it better for killing Spartans on foot.
I haven’t had much trouble with it to be honest, I don’t use it often but when I do I get at least 2 or 3 kills with it

the charge time is so horrible and if you do hit a Spartan the dont die, man I hate this weapon, 48 more hopefull kills and I can finally never use it again in halo 5
I’d rather get a plasma pistol than the Spartan Laser in Fiesta…
The fact that I’m making this statement makes me sad…
It’s probably the biggest underperformer in the entire game.

yeah, they need to take the full blast from it directly, just scrapping the side of them doesn’t do it. If you’re going for spartans try to hit them in the back, otherwise i would suggest big team and go for the vehicle kills

Hopefully a buff is in the works.

I think it’s fine. But there is certain times to pull it out. Like if you have it, and see a warthog, ghost, goose, or banshee. Go for it. If you see a tank, or wraith. Be sure there is damage already done. And dont aim straight at the vehicle. Aim at the wall youre next to, and when the laser is 1/2 charged. That is when you pull it out and aim at the tank. This keeps people like me from seeing a laser pointer. Just a tip, i use it to and catch people by surprise often.

I miss the old splasers. Could swipe over like 5 Spartans as it fired and get a sick killtacular.
