Back in all the other halo games that had the Spartan Laser, it was a 1 hit kill. I think the only exception was tanks n wraiths. that thing killed everything and destroyed any vehicle back in Halo 3 with an enemy player in it. Now its really bad most times. its like a railgun but weaker. i have shot both enemy Spartans and enemy vehicles and sometimes they manage to survive. infantry especially shouldn’t ever survive a blast from a Spartan Laser. its already hard enough to shoot with the charge and the big laser pointer letting everyone know you are charging up. Also vehicles like goose, ghost, warthog etc need to be always be one hit kills. i have shot warthogs and they survived while other times they got destroyed. it was inconsistent and i think its because you are to somehow expected hold it on the target the entire because i have hit and killed a warthog that was brand new and an enemy got in but than i hit a minimally damaged warthog, took a few bullets to the vehicle, and survived. just to see someone hit by a spartan laser, not even in a vehicle, is enraging. no other Halo games i have seen that happen. So either do more damage, shoot faster, or 5 shots.
Hydra
Hydra is fine just needs fixing on locking time because you have to get to an uncomfortable distance and for some reason it can take anywhere from instant lock on to almost 5 seconds. idk why this is because i just played a match were i wasnt even aimed at a ghost that was flying by and it instantly locked but an enemy about 20 ft away, not really moving much, took 5 full seconds and thats too long. so it has an inconsistent lock on. it needs to be fixed to how it usually is were its a 1-2 second lock on, not 3-5 or instant lock on.

It needs to be more consistent. A direct hit kills most vehicles and sometimes it can one shot a tank that has taken no damage, something that happened to me and my friend today in warzone. Other times I land a direct hit with the laser and the vehicle takes very minimal damage.

what you mean stock? and i have plenty of “XBOX RECORD THAT” showing people getting hit and not dying and they didnt have over shield or anything. they just severely lost a lot of shield n maybe some health but didnt die which all should die. and so if you say no problem that you would be okay with them fixing it to make sure it is a OHK it’s suppose to be. and ghosts, banshees, warthogs n mongooses should be a definite OHK even at fill health since i have been able to do it to brand new ones with the fresh paint still on it so when someone does die thats a problem where the SL isn’t working.

ya if the stand still. but that was back than with the Xmas noobs. now people now to trust behind corners and move around. and no as the other guy said, who experienced the same thing as me, the Spartan laser is not alright. it needs to fix its consistency.

you can get it in Arena. and im not saying Hydra is really bad but it definitely needs a slight increase on lock on as its too long to lock on now. i have held it down and it took somewhere from 3 to 5 seconds to lock on and thats a long time, someone is gonna turn and see you. not to mention its usually on CQC maps. i try to use in more open areas but no one goes there anymore so its harder to get kills than it use to be. it use to lock on in like 2 seconds.

well i would trade off for that but i would assume people would -Yoink- about that too i thought at least this way it still stays at range. not to mention you can lock on if fired on and you lose all progress when locking. if it hand the same blast radius as the reach grenade launcher i wouldn’t be bothered by it but with the grenade rounds being smaller blast radius and smaller damage, its whole trade off was the lock on which someone got made to be longer.

i noticed it has been longer. everyone is looking at you and with all the foliage everyone its hard to see where you are shooting on Deadlock which is the only map i currently know that has it on arena.

I agree that the hydra isn’t well suited for arena maps, mainly because of the sight lines and map size in general that doesn’t allow much space for the hydra missiles to curve around. The lock-on time is typically pretty darn fast between 1-2 seconds, as long as you give a clear line of sight of your enemy for the hydra to lock on. It does have its moments where you will have to readjust your crosshairs despite aiming directly at them, usually when they’re in a vehicle. The splaser however stinks compared to halo 3 and even halo 4.
I think the Hydra is pretty useless as it is currently. The only purpose for it is to kill people running from Side Base to Mid Base in warzone, or otherwise to finish the commendation and never pick it up again.
I think it needs to be redesigned to be a Ghost killer. Ghosts are currently a very unchecked vehicle in warzone at the moment, especially the Ultra. I can sometimes go the entire game in the same Ultra ghost and rack up major kills, but that’s extremely boring to me (but not to people who are BR heroes, etc)
It currently does do a decent job against ghosts, but maybe the ghost TTK could be reduced. Make it a ghost/mongoose/warthog killer.
Or replace it with grenade launcher and then redesign the terrible plasma caster.

You want to use it in btb maps when you get the chance, that’s where you’ll get the most results. tell me about it, i shoot a ghost, it lives, shoot another ghost it dies? both same health. and i felt it use to be 1-2 seconds but now i cant tell if they nerfed it or if moving around too much and thrusting delays lock on because it takes 3-5 seconds sometimes and im right on them and its just stuck yellow forever and when it does turn red it kind of too late to fire and get a kill. i might get 1 kill out of every 3 times i try it now. before i could get 2-3 kills with it in one life on average. now it feels so much worse. did the nerf it?
