Spartan-IV's

I am sure that a person would need certain qualifications to become a Spartan-IV. Spartan-II’s and Spartan-III’s can opt in to become Spartan IV’s so I am assuming that it is a collective database of many skilled volunteering practitioners from all fields of combat. The SPARTAN-IV Program is the fourth generation of the Spartan program. It consists of members recruited from the UNSC’s military, augmented to be capable of wearing a variant of the Mjolnir armor. I guess one plus side of being a Spartan-IV is the ability to intergrate yourself into the simulations that we can see in Multiplayer in order to train for actual combat. Between the 4 year timescale of Halo 3 and 4 I am guessing many Spartans, such as John’s old team, might have opted in to become such Spartans.

From what I know, Spartan-III’s had safer biological augmentation procedures but a much downgraded set of armor compared to the Spartan-II’s Mjolnir. Their strength was in their numbers, they were essentially cannon fodder and were sent on suicide missions such as Operation Trebuchet in which there were only two survivors. The project was both a success and a failure.

With the Spartan IV Project, I am assuming that it involves the strength in numbers of the Spartan-III Project, the ability to use an armor that integrates the user into a simulation for training, and a much larger task force of different abilities. I imagine the Spartan-IV’s armor to have the pros of both the Spartan-II’s Mjolnir and the Spartan-III’s SPI Armor and I am sure that the UNSC developed the Spartan-IV’s armor during the 4 years between Halo 3 and 4 to the point that it is both a cost-effective and viable option over the money-draining Mjolnir Armor. You would need to be augmented in order to use the armor, so volunteers would likely have to undergo Project Chrysanthemum of which was used on the Spartan-III’s, or a similar procedure.

But to create some discussion, what are your speculations for the Spartan-IV’s?

Spartan IV’s are… Bravo Alphas.

They are indeed badass.

But honestly, I expect that every surviving spartan is to be enrolled into the Spartan IV program and equipped with MJOLNIR VII. I also expect that there will be a greater number of them then any previous Spartan program.

I suspect so as well, maybe Spartans from previous projects have a higher rank and possibly a slight change in armor colour from the norm, if not permutations.

And obviously “Forerunner Vision”. My guess is that it is used to detect Forerunner artifacts (At least in the campaign). Kind of like the way the Covenant used other artifacts to find artifacts.

Possibly, but as far as I am aware it is a type of x-ray vision although not much has been revealed about it. I guess we will have to wait and see.

I usually think that Spartans 4’s are pretty much seasoned Veterans from the Covenant-human war that accepted to be part of the project. Of course, thats what I think…

You’re indeed right, they are. Then there are also the volunteers from the UNSC, especially the Special Forces.

I like this idea, as they’ll be more skilled because they’ve been in battle against the covenant and flood and survived.

Exactly, and at the same time they will be faced with a new enemy in the Campaign so it will be interesting to see how they react.
