Okay, have I missed something about SPARTAN IVs? What are they, and where did they come from?
Halo Glasslands hints to them though a Spartan II in the story named Naomi is wearing Mark VII armor; the armor the Spartan IV’s will be wearing into battle and i assume the Chief as well.

Spartan 4s have the augmentation survival sucess rate of spartan3s and the size and the raw power of a spartan2
A bit more in-depth, how I understand it, the SPARTAN-IVs are all volunteers.
They consist of volunteer soldiers, and the remaining SPARTAN-IIs and IIIs that have been integrated into the program.

Halo: Glasslands ring any bells?
I just finished yesterday, and Spartan IV’s are explained to be like the Orion Project (Spartan I project, which Sgt. Johnson was). But Glasslands doesn’t elaborate on them more than that. Other than the II’s & III’s are given the choice to train them.
Don’t reply on comments saying that I hate the new Spartan 4’s, I actually love the look. But what is their purpose for being in the game? Is it supposed to be something related to campaign? Who made them? Could it have been the Forerunners that made being the most technological beings(it seems like I’m the only one that thinks they are friendly, I hear other people say they’re bad)? It wouldn’t make sense for UNSC to develop Spartan 4’s after the human-covenant war.
On a side note, what was with the unicorns and wolves in the vidoc?

that statement would be correct, they have some info in halo glasslands. and on a side note spartan 3s can become sparten 4s if they chose to become one
i’m also curious why they said spartan 4s for multiplayer, like specifically pointed it out will their be gameplay differences or 343s way of showing us what some future characters in halo 5 and 6 might look like?

They were mentioned towards the end of Halo: Glasslands. They’re going to be more like the Spartan-Is. All adult volunteers.
