Spartan-IV’s are the culmination of 3 Spartan Programs. They have the physical and mental strengths of the Spartan-II’s. They are given the best augmentations which are the ones used on the Spartan-III’s, and they are volunteers like the Spartan-I’s. So, all in all, if the Chief wasn’t as great as he is, the Spartan-IV’s would be better. Not to mention they are being trained by the remaining Spartan-II’s and III’s.

the Chief is alive. Spartan II’s are better, always will be. why else do you think ONI keeps making more Spartan programs, cause they try to make more Chief’s but can’t.
Spartan IV’s may be better if they’re training against other Spartan IV’s. if you a few Spartan IV’s that beat all the other Spartan IV’s, then you got the best Spartan squad, ever. Spartan IV’s may end up being better in the end.

Glasslands hints at the Spartan IV program. I think they will be the same strength as S-IIs, hell the S-IIs are becoming S-IVs.

Whats better than the veterans? Fred, Kelly, and Linda can teach the new generation pretty good. I’d assume so anyway. The remaining Spartan-III’s are, not so much veterans, so they wouldn’t make the best teachers, but they have experience none the less.

Ya, but the spartan II’s were trained since childhood, both physically and mentally, so i would say spartan II’s are slightly more superior.
There hasn’t been a whole lot of info on them so it’s hard to say. I have read glasslands and most of the other books though and I think they are probably better than SPARTAN-lll’s but not above the ll’s.
I say this because while the lV’s are indeed experienced soldiers and may receive similar augmentations as the SPARTAN-ll’s, there are a few key differences.
The ll’s not only had the best of the best enhancements, but they also have been through the most brutal training since the age of 6. Even without their armor, they can reach super-human levels of power.
But as I said we need more info so this is mostly speculation.
Based on what i know about the other Spartan projects, im going to assume that spartan 4’s will be physically inferior to Spartan 2’s, but their armour will most likely be superior

“Spartan IVs? These new Spartans are actually introduced in the Halo: Glasslands novel and are comprised of former special forces soldiers such as Navy Seals, Delta Forces, and so on. It’s a sharp contrast to the Spartan IIs which were made up of children kidnapped and forced into the program at the age of six. See, there’s a really rich and interesting history here! Anyway, Spartan IVs are advanced augmented soldiers much like Spartan IIs and are who you’ll be playing as in multiplayer.”
Spartan IVs will have inferior training and experience compared to Spartan IIs and IIIs. Don’t forget IVs are adult soldiers who have been augmented, they don’t have the years of experience of being a Spartan and they don’t have an entire life dedicated to being a soldier. If anything a Spartan IV would have some superior augmentations countered by physical limitations.
For me the main difference is the level of experience and skill. A Spartan-II would no doubt be superior compared to a Spartan-IV in every single way. That said there are only a handful of Spartan-IIs and not not that many more Spartan-IIIs, there would be an almost limitless supply of Spartan-IVs.
And so we come to it… the point where Spartans are no longer special or rare.
they are people turned into spartans after they joined the military, from what I could tell in glasslands. None of this breeding for war stuff. Still, the superior technology should make them somewhere in-between spartan III’s and spartan II’s, closer in strength to the latter.

I was dreading this as well.
Regarding the topic: there is a difference (a big one, I would wager) between becoming a soldier, and being raised as a soldier from a very early age.
In my opinion the s2s are better than the s4s, because the s2s have been trying ever since they were 6 years old a under went a more deadly augmentation
