SPARTAN IV?

Do you think they might do something with the SPARTAN IV Program since they mentioned it in Glasslands?

Most likely. I would expect them to appear in the follow up to Glasslands. It would be nice to see more Spartans appear in the games but personally I want to see the Chief appear with his fellow Spartan IIs.

I firmly believe that the Spartan IV Project will be explained in greater detail within a future round of informative Halo media (books, games, videos, etc…). Reading over all the Spartan IV tidbits in Glasslands blew me away. They are one reason why I am extremely excited to read Glasslands’ sequel once it is created. I enjoyed the novel.

For the record, you’ve all been playing with and/or against Spartan IVs, one branch of the UNSCDF, for quite some time. While we made our official debut back in '04, some of us have been kicking it far longer than Halo: CE’s lifespan. The Halo Universe, simply put, became our flagship console game. You better believe we’ll continue this trend for Halo 4 and long after. In a way, one could even claim that Spartan IVs will technically be in Halo 4. Surprise, surprise.

I look forward to participating with members of this community in the Anniversary playlists this weekend. If you’re interested in some custom gametypes or matchmaking shenanigans, start looking for me on Thursday (11/17/2011) afternoon. I plan on dropping in for a brief stint of H:CEA that day. See you then!!!

The main thing I am interested in, is if they have actually worked out all of the problems with augmenting adults over children as I believe that was one of the main problems in Project ORION.

I have a feeling that that is going to cause some trouble for the SIV project, if not make it fail completely and utterly.

SIs and SIVs have the benefit of experience before augmentation. That they can’t reach the same potential had they been augmented with the newer formulas at younger ages does not at any point take away any achievement earned before being augmented.

Buck and the Rook… now that’s a headhunter game I could go for. Though not all the SIVs will be as experienced or lucky, a good lot will be. SIVs would most definitely romp the Elites if given MJOLNIR armour. Outside of it, they’d give a challenge.

> Wrong. Cyborgs can not remove part of themselves at will. They are a true mix of man and machine. John is just an augmented super soldier that uses a suit custom tailored to him that would kill just about anyone else that tried to use it.

Wrong. From Dictionary.com: A Cyborg is a person whose physiological functioning is aided by or dependent upon a mechanical or electronic device. In science fiction a living being whose powers are enhanced by computer implants or mechanical body parts.

Those who sign up for the UNSC Military receive Neural Interfaces embedded directly into their skulls. The Spartans received an upgrade to theirs, or at least John-117 and Naomi-010 have, which allows an A.I. to connect directly to their brains. Their armor connects directly to their motor cortex as well which the A.I. can use to increase their already increased reflexes.

This by definition makes them Cyborgs. They can’t easily remove the computer embedded into their brains also.

interesting… bungie always had a play with words…

what if the Spartan IV program benefited from the Forerunner mutation technology that could be found on ships? I know that some Forerunners had their mutations done on ships, which carried the equipment. mutations can also be reversed if petitioned through a council, so I’m sure the equipment can be found in Forerunner civilian structures located at the Onyx Shield World. humans and forerunners share so much biological similarities, the equipment used to undergo Forerunner mutations might just be compatible with humans. just imagine, Spartan IV being 12-14 feet tall and 1000-2000 lbs of lean muscle?

the Mjolnir armor can benefit from the Forerunner skins found on ships, cities, or even the Halo rings. recall that Master Chief was offered an upgrade to Forerunner armor. the reclaimers are pretty lucky with all the technology the forerunners have left them. I’m sure that the next Halo Glassland novels won’t limit human technological advancements to slipspace technology, but engineering, biological, medical sciences as well.

I think its very possible, they are said to be on the new UNSC Infinity, and it was part of the Halo 4 concept art. Im not sure they would introduce them so swiftly into the game, but its a possibility.
Seeing that the games will take a closer look at John himself, along with the changes that are being made to the new spartan program (No child abduction, open files to older class spartans), it has a significant connection as to how John may see things
