considering the official heights of fireteam majestic all being within the range of at least 7 feet in armor, is it safe to conclude that the spartan iv’s have a growth hormone advancement similar to the spartan iii’s?
*keep in mind the halo 4 epilouge cutscene was scaled wrong
*bonus question; would the polimer applied to their muscles to allow them to work harder and faster by extention boost their reflexes as well being that the speed at which a muscle moves is tied to the nerves?
The problem with the IVs is that they are made in months on top of the fact that they are adults.
Dont know why 343 decided to have the story happen so soon with everything basically on top of each other.
New blood has confirmed that they use some type of growth hormone on them to make them taller. I expect they put the augmentation in first then hit them with the hormone so that the body grows around the augmentation as if they grew up with them.
To talk about the height differential: Funny thing is that growth hormone would not make you taller unless you were a child when your epiphyseal plates have not ossified. The only thing that would grow is your jaw, nose and ears. This can be seen in pituitary tumors. This is why i feel S-IVs being the height of S-IIs just doesnt make sense to me if they got hormone therapy. It makes sense for the young 8 year old S-IIs. There is a condition called gigantism, which is an overactive pituitary from birth which can cause extreme growth. Generally, the child end up being 7 feet and over. The S-II project pretty much mimicked gigantism with growth hormone therapy.
A S-IV is already an adult so their epiphyseal plates (cartilaginous portion for bone elongation) are now closed and there is no way for them to grow unless they have surgical augmentation. The way I look at it is :
A) Since its science fiction, they have a new synthetic made up growth hormone that is able to “reopen” the epiphyseal line to become a plate and allow growth
B) Ceramic plating of the bones causes an increase in height
C) They have physically been augmented to be taller (surgery in todays day in age allows for a couple inches in growth by “bone breaking and remaking”)
D) All of the above
As for the other augmentation, they make more sense. For example, remyelination/supermyelination of neurons etc. However, biologically, these augmentations would work better on someone younger, not an adult (Halsey was correct about getting them young)
