I always wondered, why didn’t Kurt use Halsey ? And how many are left? I read The Ghosts of Onyx and it was a good book,
but was all that even canon? I never hear about them in game because in halo 3 you are a spartan II and in Guardians you are a spartan IV.
please tell me what you guys know! Thanks !

Well, why wasn’t Halsey used in the spartan III project?
How many are left? (Besides Jun) and now that you say so you do play as a Spartan -III in reach

Ohh I get it now. The Spartan-III project was built as a competitor to Halsey’s S-II project by Colonel Ackerson who held a grudge. Kurt was brought in to train the III’s since he was an experienced II. I don’t think he had any say in bringing in people who he thought might benefit the program, let alone suggest the very person who Ackerson wanted to one-up.

Yes, you do play as a III in Reach. All the main characters are III’s except Jorge who is a II. Not sure how many III’s are left.
