Were there any Spartan III’s with MJOLNIR armor? Or did they all have API or whatever it’s called?
Most Spartan IIIs were only equipped with Semi-Powered Infiltration (SPI) Armor. It was lighter, cheaper, and now where near as powerful as Mjolnir. Think of it as ODST armor but better.
The only Spartan-IIIs we’ve seen equipped with Mjolnir are the members of Noble Team.

Thanks, that’s what I was thinking, but just wasn’t sure. The fact that they didn’t even have shields on their armor shows how desperate the UNSC was for manpower.

Don’t forget the Headhunters

Headhunters, if I remember correctly, didn’t wear Mjolnir, but a highly advanced SPI armor that featured a lot of upgrades seen in Mjolnir.

This is all the explanation you need^^^^^

I think it was either the encyclopaedia or the visual guide that said something about a number of other SIIIs using MJOLNIR in different branches of the Army, Airforce and Navy. I’m pretty sure they said a few headhunters used it as well.

I’m not sure if that has been retconed or not by the fact that Spartans now serve under their own branch of UNSC simply called SPARTAN.

I don’t think that would be considered a retcon, considering at the time that was written, the Spartans were still split up into different branches. It’s just recently they became their own branch.
Also another reason against a retcon, what do you do with their ranks? Like John isn’t in the S IV program, so if they don’t have a Master Chief rank how would he fit into the rank structure of the new Spartans? I can see it explained with any older Spartans that joined the IVs, new branch new rank, but John would still fall under the Navy, until his conscription into the 4s.
As of 2552, Spartans are either Navy, under NavSpecWar Division command, or the UNSC Army under Special Warfare Command. Now the Spartans IV active in 2553 are unknown to us.
> As of 2552, Spartans are either Navy, under NavSpecWar Division command, or the UNSC Army under Special Warfare Command. Now the Spartans IV active in 2553 are unknown to us.
That is false. As of 2553, all spartans serve under their own branch called SPARTAN. See here.

That’s SPARTAN-III’s or SPARTAN-IV’s, it doesn’t include SPARTAN-II’s, or what’s left of Orion. (If anyone is still left from Orion)

And where is the source on there for the Date?

It’s actually all Spartan IVs, since it says all the IIIs of Gamma were incorporated.
Avu, did you read this part?
> It is unknown whether or not the the SPARTAN-IIs, the iconic legends of the Class of 2525, were asked to join the command; if so, a possible active thirteen additional Spartans would be added to the unit’s roster.[note 3]
That whole page is guesswork, considering Spartan IVs and their numbers have only been mentioned. And even by the pages own wording, it’s unclear if the remaining IIs were offered to join.
Even at the end in the trivia part, it says the “branch” can be likened to JSOC, even though JSOC isn’t it’s own branch like that page claims the Spartans are. JSOC is a mix of all the branches. Spartans, if they are their own branch, would no longer be considered Army, Navy, etc. They’d just be Spartans.
> And where is the source on the date?
They talked about it in Glasslands, which takes place in 2553, and for the majority of 2552 Spartans didn’t have their own branch, so It’s easily assumed that 2553 is when this change occurred.
> It’s actually all Spartan IVs, since it says all the IIIs of Gamma were incorporated.
What you just said makes no sense. All SPARTAN IIIs and SPARTAN IVs were incoporated. Not just SPARTAN IVs.

That is where they pulled the number from. And The SPARTAN IIs would not be “offered to join.” They would be re-assigned like every other Spartan.

I don’t remember seeing anything about a Spartan branch being started in Glasslands, just that the IVs were made. By the way there is a Spartan II in Glasslands that even your Halopedian page says isn’t a part of the SPARTAN branch
> > It’s actually all Spartan IVs, since it says all the IIIs of Gamma were incorporated.

This is what it says…SPARTAN-IIIs, then consisting of two Beta Company veteran instructors, 323 Gamma Company members, and an unknown number of Headhunters were requested by Admiral Parangosky and Naval Intelligence for reassignment to Spartan branch.[7] Point 7 says Glasslands pg 345, I have that right in front of me, it says NOTHING of any of the Spartan 3s, That is why Halopedian isn’t trustworthy. Since you are the Glasslands pro, try giving me a page where it says Lucy and Tom and the rest of the 3s are being incorporated into the SPARTAN branch, and not just into the Spartan IVs

> Wrong again, if it isn’t guesswork, then the person who wrote that section is completely inept at math. The Size: category say 648-948. If there are 300- 500 IVs, and that’s just on the Infinity by the way I don’t see the UNSC allowing their precious super soilders all leave with the infinty, and 323 of Gamma. is 623-823, if you add Tom and Lucy that is 625-825. Plus 33 other possible surviving Spartan IIIs, makes 658-858. The math is all wrong. And it is guesswork, cause nobody knows how many of the Headhunters are alive. And that very page says offered to join, so either defend it as truth or abandon the use of that page for info, cause that is what says offered to join. Otherwise why hasn’t Naomi been re-assigned already?

> No I didn’t I was simply pointing out the flaw in their comparison, they can’t compare the 2 because it is completely different. Isn’t the same. The only comparison is if the military took all of the special forces, I.e Force Recon, Scout Snipers, Navy Seals, Delta, AF Special Forces, and put them in their own NEW Special Forces Branch. Which doesn’t exist. All of those Spartans would no longer be in the Army/Navy/Marines, just Spartans.
No need for the Page Number, I found it. 435, only 100 pages off, so I guess Halopedian was close enough eh…anyway…ver batim…
> Admiral? Admiral! Halsey called out before the doors swung shut. What’s going to happen to them now? The War’s over. What are you going to do with them?
> Footsteps came back to the door again, and Parangosky stood in the entrance.
>
> That depends on what they want to do, she said. We’ll probably offer them the opportunity of pulling together the remaining Spartan-Threes and integrqating them into the Spartan-Four program.
NOWHERE in that exchange does it mention the IIs, or even that another Branch has been created, I feel like you seen that page on Halopedian and jumped all over it. Unless of course you have another source (wwith the right page numbers or links) that actually says there is a Spartan branch. It also says it depends on what they want to do, meaning they are offering the Spartans a choice, of course that could just be lies to Halsey, but there is nothing to contradict that. So even the IIIs are being offered an out if they want it.
So unless you have a first hand page number from Glasslands saying Tom and Lucy and the Headhunters are all being reassigned to the Spartan IVs then you are wrong. And you should always double check the sourcs on Halopedian before you link the page, just in case something like this happens.
Avu, um, you need to prove that SPARTANs are at their own independent branch. I have read the Glasslands and I can say that there is no direct evidence suggesting like that. Ergo, the article of “SPARTAN branch” is guesswork and horrendously bad math as well. So, SPARTANs are still under Navy branch, fyi.
So, drop the claim on SPARTAN branch thing you claimed to be.
There is no “spartan branch” and that sounds like halopedian nonsense.
> There is no “spartan branch” and that sounds like halopedian nonsense.
Actually, if you go to the Halo 4 official site, and go to the story section, the part about the Spartan-IV program confirms that Spartans have their own branch in the UNSC Military now.
