Spartan II soldiers CAN fall in love

I notice a lot of people are saying Master Chief and Spartan IIs can’t fall in love because they have a reduced -Yoink!- drive. But you do not need a -Yoink!- drive to fall in love, you people know that right?

I don’t know much about Halo lore, I’ve only played Halo CE so I’ll take your word that Spartan IIs have lower -Yoink!- drive. But that does not mean that they cannot fall in love.

I just think its kinda shallow that people think Spartan IIs can’t fall in love just because they have a lower -Yoink!- drive. Theres a lot more to love, romance, and relationships that that. Master Chief can find love if the right circumstances happen. When can we drop the re-occurring argument of -Yoink!- drive?

We have a pretty clear-cut example of Spartans falling in love with Spartan Black Team.

Obviously you’re right. I don’t know if I like idea of Chief falling in love. Still there many kinds of love and forms of affection and in a way John loves members of Blue team like he did love Cortana. I don’t think he/story needs romantic relationship.

Spartans can indeed fall in love, and it’s possible that Chief could fall in love with Kelly or Linda or whoever if that’s what you’re trying to say. But it would add absolutely nothing to the story. Their bond is already super strong, so a romance wouldn’t be necessary to drive home that fact. And I doubt Chief, the person who turned down some much deserved R & R, is going to be looking for a love life.

They don’t even have a reduced -Yoink!- drive. It’s under RISKS. It is not garunteed.

Under the same column is permanent blindness and bone pulverization, and obviously no active S-II’s have those.

It may be present in some, but its by no means guarunteed.

Otto-031 and Margaret-053 had a secret relationship. And Victor-101 was jealous of them.

Randall-037(or Randall Aiken) had a wife and also a child.

Maria-062 retired to start a family.

So yea Spartans can feel love. And in general emotions. Just they may not show it in ways we imagine.

Well, I don’t know. They can but the Chief’s kinda the coldest of all. I know he starts to show emotions starting from Halo 4, but I prefer him as a cold and loner Spartan.

This. Also John, Kelly, Linda, and Fred have been a team for 20+years I feel like they have more of a brother sister vibe going on then a let’s fall in love vibe.
