Spartan Fred-104 took Escharum's Eye

I know we aren’t meant to take anything away from the megaconstrux sets. But just looking at Hyperius, it seems to be a theme for 343’s Hand Of Atriox to have had interactions with other Spartans to emphasise their lethality and garner our foes some prestige.

[Namely referring to Hyperius with Locke’s helm, Atriox having ODST armour, ect]

I think there’s a possibility Fred; in tribute to the action scenes of The Package animation of Halo Legends, took War-Chieftain Escharum’s right eye. Likelyhood, Fred being known for his iconic CQC skills could emphasise Escharum’s own skill whilst letting us know 343 hasn’t forgotten about our favourite Blue Team.

Thoughts?

In truth, there’s a chance for anything really. This one is a little specific so I don’t know, but there is also a chance its true.

Are you implying that Fred took Escharum’s eye in the events of Infinite, or during the height of the war with the Banished and UNSC on Zeta Halo? Because the Shadows of Reach book which takes place before all of that describes Escharum as he sets foot on Reach already having that scar. I don’t really see Fred ever having gone face to face with Escharum before Infinite. During the events of Infinite, though, I think Fred is in for the fight of his life if he ever does encounter Escharum. I don’t think they’ll do this, but what better way to pull at the strings of Master Chief than to have Escharum either brutally kill or severely hurt Fred? Fred is no doubt skilled, but we’re talking about Atriox’s mentor which is said to be 80 to 90 years old which no doubt has nearly unmatched years of combat experience and skill.

I suppose either? But yea, I think Fred would be in for the fight of his life. But I imagine both he and Escharum could walk away with scars. And whilst Escharum might have the scar he appears to be blind in one eye? Just a theory!

his eye was damaged well before infinite. I mean, it was damaged at least before the shadows of reach as hes described to have the scar (this is also when blue team first see the brute, thus making it impossible for fred to give him that scar)

I also find it hard to believe that both Fred and Escharum would walk away from an encounter with one another.

Fair. I’m saving the book until September - October.

I hope so, that would be cool as hell. I’d love to see Fred-104 getting time in the limelight, and it’d make that apparent MegaConstrux boss battle set more satisfying to see actually play out.

It would be cool in game to learn how his eye became that way. Same way with Hyperius I would love to know what were the Spartans he killed to get those fingers.
