Halo Infinite has made some good equipment drops for Spartans to use to their team’s advantage. What about a few more designs based off of previous armor abilities similar to Halo 3, Reach, and 4?
AUTO-SENTRY
A deployable Forerunner Auto-Sentry akin to the one seen in Halo 3. It has a smaller beam-weapon that deals 1/4 the damage of a Sentinel-Beam and targets enemy Spartans to both alert your team of anyone in range and also to give you the upper hand in a fight. Great for close-quarters control and for the Stongholds mode. However, it is countered by Active-Camo as with it active and your still invisible; you don’t show up on Radar or on the Auto-Sentry’s sensors… until you perform an act that destabilizes your cloak.
RADAR JAMMER
A launchable similar to the Proximity Sensor. This device has double the range of a Proximity-Sensor and will jam the Radar of the enemy team while leaving your team’s radar intact. Great for when you want to ambush the enemy or deny them intel as they move about. However, it can be countered by the Proximity-Sensors deployed by the enemy team to give them intel within the blind-bubble.
BUBBLE-SHIELD
A deployable Bubble-Shield Generator that also acts as a Regen Field, similar to how the Drop-Shield in Halo Reach both shielded you from damage and slowly boosted your restoration speed of your health and shields. People and vehicles can of course go through, while weapons damage cannot. Like with Halo Reach’s Drop-Shield, sustained damage will weaken and collapse the bubble.
SAP TRAP
The Degeneration Field ball from Halo 3 was interesting, but a bit predictable and you had to take your time to drop it out and then resume firing your weapons. I propose a proximity trap that acts similar to the Dynamo Grenades. It uses electrical shocks to drain away at shields and EMP vehicles that drive over the trap. However, only one can be deployed at a time. Meaning that if you deploy another one; your previous trap will despawn in place of another one you are currently deploying.
JUMP JET
The Jet Pack was awesome in Halo Reach, but you were a sitting duck in the air. So why not a booster-pack that allows you to essentially double-jump in the air to reach higher heights and then clamber over the ledge to get the high ground? Sure you could argue that the grapple-shot does this as well, but you have to aim your shot to use it. This would allow you to be evasive while having your aim on the enemy around you.
SPEED BOOST
Similar to how Overshield and Active-Camo are unique power ups that are dropped from top-tier weapon/equipment spawners, the Speed-Boost will do the same. And as the name suggests, it will boost your Spartan’s speed of mobility and actions by 15%. So now you can run around, slide, grapple, thruster, and reload at a boosted speed for a short period of time.
DAMAGE BOOST
Another top-tier powerup that you can vye and struggle for, the Damage Boost can boost your damage output with weapons and melee strikes by 15%, allowing for you to save ammo as every shot hurts more. Well, at least if you can aim. Keep in mind, you are now the priority target of your enemy team.
