Spartan Customization

Anybody else think they should have reach’s armor customization as a standard. If they can improve reach’s armor customization, that would make infinite so much better. I’m almost tempted to ask if they would let you use your character as the main character in the story, kinda like reach, but that’s not really halo so. For weapon customization I really think they should have something like Modern warfare. Like choosing which scope you might want on the BR, or if you want to use a flashlight on the shotgun. One final request I have is different ammo types. I was reading FoR the other day, and I know they talk about this in other books, but they talk about using shredder rounds in the beginning of the book, I think they should let you do stuff like that in Infinite. I ask for this because I don’t really like the new weapons, because it seems they replaced the shotgun, and the new AR sound is kinda blech. So I think customization wise this will change the game for the better.

Yeah I was very disappointed when I saw 5s armor customization from after playing 4 and reach. With the whole open world thing for Infinite maybe 343 will do a thing like Tomb Raider and other games where you go around the map and find parts for your weapons.

I think it would simplify the armors from a standpoint of not having 230+ armor styles, would be much easier to navigate quickly going through the menu than what H5 was. Its nice to see base armors and actually recognize the name. Furthermore the Reach style layout allowed for additions to the helmet, wrist, pack on the leg, etc. It gave each user more of an identity imo based on how they set there kit up.

I think one of the Dev’s was quoted in an article stating that the armor styling would be closer to reach style. ALSO with the latest cannon fodder, it showcased a new enemy with a bionic arm…wonder where that came from?!?

I think that 343i should’ve kept the artstyle they were initially going with in Halo 4 & 5, except adding the option for attachments like Halo: Reach had.

They have come out and said the level of customization is comparable to Halo Reaches armor system.

Actually no, i rather the Halo 3 Customization System, i mean, customization on the legs? on the forearm? I didn’t like that, they didn’t looks like spartans, also it was everything the same, If the spartan doesn’t have the security on the right and another small on the left, it was two sniper shoulders, Halo reach had the biggest customization system but they all look the same.

I want DOOM 2016 levels of customisation. Head, arms, torso, legs, wrists. I want to interchange them all, colour them etc.

This. I believe the statement specifically said that fans of Reach’s customization are likely to appreciate what they’re going for with Infinite. Whether they were referring to modularity, design language, progression system, etc., or some combination of the above has never been made clear.

In any case, I’d say that you can breathe easy on armor customization, OP. Many of the other requests seem less likely to come about–at a minimum, we know for a fact that weapon skins are coming back, but I doubt seriously that we’ll have widespread ammo type selections for different guns. FoR does cite shredder rounds, but there is zero precedent gameplay wise in the history of the series to support that including different ammo types works- and I think it muddies the balancing waters even further than they already are with a gigantic (relatively) weapons sandbox, enhanced movement, etc.

As for using our custom Spartans in campaign? I’ve often voiced a thought around here that it would be pretty cool if Co-op players that aren’t the party leader get the opportunity to play as their MP Spartan alongside Chief in the campaign. This’d be fun and cool, and I think it works on a lore level since the only game with practically “Canon” Co-Op was Halo 3, so going out on a limb lore wise by including random Spartans fighting alongside Chief won’t be taken too seriously.

Yeah I think the shredder rounds may have been a little over the top, but considering the fact that it’s been 5 years since halo 5 came out, I feel like it’ll at least be 5 more years before the next halo. That’s why I thought they should have a wide variety for customization, just to have multiple varieties that people could try out over the years for people to get less bored.
