I played a game of warzone earlier today; just a random match making game on escape form arc, and we went up against a spartan company where the average level was about 130. My team managed to get a boss kill, and after that the other took our base before we even killed all the AI’s. they ended up with all 3 bases and instead of just destroying our core, they sat by it, and basically took over it. It got to the point where we were being spawn killed at our own base. I tried running away a couple of times to seek shelter from the impending onslaught, though even that proved impossible. our final score was about 1000-90, and the other team didn’t even take a single legendary boss, or many bosses at all for that matter; they just continually killed us. I managed to do, I think the best on our whole team, with 8 kills, and I think 25/26 deaths, yes that was the best. One of the people on their company had a warzone record of I think 1126 wins, and 5 losses. I feel like spartan companies, especially ones of this caliber, ruin the game for those of us who aren’t part of one and play more for recreation. I just felt I needed to address this, it seems like something can be done to prevent this from happening, as this company clearly had quite a record going for themselves.
That’s why getting commendations for the sake of the armour should never have been a thing, I miss community challenges that made sense like completing Halo on legendary with all skulls on or Vidmaster challenges. It just seems the most common complaint about Halo 5 is most people are farming for commendations.
Yeah, it sorta takes the fun away when full companies go against lower, single players. I recently went up against The Sauna, and it was awful. I ended up hiding behind a rock for half the game waiting for the timer to go down.

It’s gotten to the point where I just avoid warzone now. BTB is more enjoyable for me… even though it has less variety than warzone (as in in warzone atleast every now and then there will be some new problem that you have to deal with for ex a gauss hog). Only problem is it does not earn as much RP :/.

Yeah WarZone feels too dangerous now lol. I need to play big team more.
Arc is the worst map to escape from if a fireteam captures your bases.
Yup this carry on has led me to mainly play btb or warzone assault. The farming is too frequent for solo warzone a lot of the time.
Assaults starting to show up in it too…went up against an entire company yesterday. We won, barely.
I can understand your pain, but this is apart of the game. I have joined a Spartan company, there is nothing holding you back from joining one yourself.
If it’s that big of a deal, find friends or go on an lfg. That game may have been me and my friends. Lol. It’s really not that hard to counter it either. Too many casuals play Warzone though.

that’s the team. jiink GG was the one with the record I was talking about, though I guess there’s been a loss since last time. I just find it unbalanced.

I don’t really want the obligation of being on a team with a bunch of random people. I doubt I could find/make one with a decent skill level to it. The thing i disliked most about that game is that they didn’t just destroy our core. They just spawn camped us, and would call in vehicle REQ’s and bring out power weapons, they’d always fight in pairs. They could have just gave us the mercy killing but even that would have been to hard for them I suppose.

OP that’s what we call kill farming, commendation farming, being a -yoink-, there are several terms to describe it. It was happening a bit before Achilles, but it’s rampant now. I used to love warzone, couldn’t play it enough. Now I’ve just about hit a wall with it. I still play and try to get the daily commendation win pack, but the farmers stole the magic. I could (we all could) join a “Warzone HCS League” and destroy noobs in warzone, but my heart just isn’t in it. I just want the random chaos warzone was at launch, but it’s gone and it ain’t coming back.
Why dont you just get a 12 man team?
I was in Osiris and we dominated every warzone match.

People like me cant join a proper one because I’m too damn busy, I can’t commit to play as often as most of these companies demand yet I’ve still clocked 700+ games.
Awful, but there is a way to avoid spawn killing… there’s a place they can’t reach, the vehicle bay. Spawn in a ghost and run for the place where the Pelicans drop you off. Nobody ever goes there, so you’ll be safe there…

I’ve been farmed even there. The worst offenders will come into your base and hunt you down. It doesn’t happen that often, it has to be the perfect storm of questionably skilled randoms against 12 really good players, but when it happens the best thing really is just quit the match. I’ve seen enemies in the core room ignoring the core shooting at me. In fact I’ve seen people bunny hop in front of the core hoping the farmers stray shots will hit the core and eventually take it down. That was a fun one.
