Are Spartan companies actually integrated into the game other than combined starts no? And can I please join someone’s?

I really hope they do integrate Spartan company contacts and details in game.
There are 12 other members in the company I’m currently and its set to grow as its with a cosplay community.
Seemingly no. I thought of doing somethings with my Spartan company like having game nights or something, but I have not decided yet, plus I don’t think many people ever get on waypoint besides me.
