Hi Everyone!
Let me preface this post by stating that I am very green to this website and Halo as an online community. Outside of Reddit, the last time I actively used a forum was easily 15 years ago. I currently have a PC and my experience with the console was internet-less since I more or less grew up in a swamp (dial up was my internet until I went to college back in the late 2000’s).
All that being said, can anyone give me the quick, down, and dirty about Spartan Companies?
- Is there a FAQ?I tried searching for one and didn’t see much. Most of the Spartan Company links on the website go straight to recruitment stuff. A search of the website did lead to me finding a link to https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/community/spartan-companies but if you try to travel to that point of the website manually (i.e. Community → Spartan Companies) it’s back to recruitment. I became very familiar with this endless loop.
- Spartan Companies = what used to be known as Clans? Right?
- Are Companies retroactive (or only Halo 4 & 5)?
- Is there an interface incorporated in the game for chatting with members of your Company on Console? Or do people primarily begin with dealings here online, add friends, and then go from there?
I can’t help but speak from a Diablo/WoW Clan/Guild point of view here. It would be fantastic if this is similar on console. If this doesn’t really exist in such a formal, social setting I understand. If it does…
- Will/Should Companies be cross platform?
- Should Companies exist that are PC Majority?
I’m keeping in mine the age-old argument of controller vs. mouse. Making cross-platform play for FPS games is challenging; it’s not easy (or perhaps not even possible) to bridge the gap and make game-play equitable (not without a ton of complaints). That’s why I ask this last question and that’s okay.
Sorry this is so long! My head is spinning from diving straight into this community.
