Who is a fan of spartan charges? I feel is has a place with the aspect of sprint as spartans.
I feel that Spartan Charge has to go or needs some serious tweaking needed for it to fit perfectly or at least balance out within the game’s movement.
It’s explosiveness is annoying to come across and fun to abuse imo. I do not want to see it remove, because I love to know and see that mine and any other Spartan is capable of various abilities.
However, heading forward to Halo 6, I believe it would turn out more balanced if the mechanic required the player to hold the the melee button (while sprinting) to charge up the ability before it ultimately activates; similar to the function of ground pound (or charge up weapons; excluding the Plasma Pistol).
Of course you cannot just run around the map holding the melee button; just waiting to use your cheat-out-of-death free card, but it will take a small interval in time from the point when you initiated the charge to the point when it will finally activate.
I believe it will force and encourage players to use this ability in a more dexterous manner, and work all the more with the limited range of the motion sensor.
It will definitely cut down those unfortunate incidents of getting struck out of nowhere and around the corners, and resolve those last second actions to mash the panic button and get a cheap advantage over a player because they ran into a corner not paying attention or being cautious.
The charge is more annoying with people who don’t know how to use it properly. I’ve always found a good way to use it, if someone is running ahead of you, and you can’t quite get the assassination. That’s my view anyway, i’m sure there’s plenty other uses. It’s not a perfect mechanic, but not one that ruins games.

If it weren’t for that damn commendation, I’d stop performing them entirely.

Spartan Charge is fine by me. I just feel like the radar should get a larger radius. It’s kind of annoying when you get Spartan Charged from your blind spots and you didn’t even see it coming.
Spartan charge can die off and join the many ranks of terrible ideas like armor lock and Promethean vision for example.

This is the way I feel as well. I enjoy Spartan Charge in campaign and WZ, but would love it removed from arena.

Oh I though you had another line to write lol
Remove the mechanic as it exists now, and tie a melee damage boost to a “higher momentum” thrust + melee attack combo… like how H2 had momentum/jump-related melee damage modifiers…
Spartan Charge’s current implementation is pure cheese… but Thruster-Melee’s would be a very “Halo” way of implementing the same idea, essentially IMO. Far more balanced, with a Thruster cooldown naturally tied to it… It’s using Thruster Pack in an offensive application (making it less of defensive manuever, improving its “meta” and versatility) and if you miss, and you’re far more vulnerable and cannot thrust away.
Risk/reward gameplay, like Halo should be at a mechanical level…

That’s a good idea. I like that. Makes things more bearable.
I use it, so I can’t complain (wasn’t even going to), will say that sometimes it comes in handy.

I have a love-hate relationship with that thing. I love using it to rocket across maps because halo logic. And I hate it when people use it. Maybe beta reticule would work better for me. If you don’t remember it was half of the size it is now.
I think it’s best to keep it outta arena, specifically Ranked playlists.
I don’t play Ranked anymore, but I’ve heard countless people complain that it’s a cheap move in Ranked Playlists. It makes for a great ability in the Warzone playlists and Custom Games though, since those are the main things I play.

Play HCS, barely anyone uses it in my experience
