I only play warzone but i am noticing a lot in combat that i am been spartan charged from a standing still enemy.
For me personally to perform a spartan charge i must start sprint and wait a second or so before i can perform the charge but i am coming up against a lot of opponents who we will be having a gun fight strafing left to right ( not sprinting ) then they will spartan charge from what must be a stand still. Or they are coming up stairs to an armory i come around the corner down the stairs they are walking Boom, spartan charge me…The load up time surely is the same for everyone???
Does anyone else experience this and is there any tips to speed up your charge ability because i am getting melee’d a lot at the moment because of this…
I don’t know about “standing still” but the time it takes to hit “full sprint” and enable spartan abilities like charge and slide is too short imo. It’s barely 1 second of sprinting. In the beta it felt more like 3 seconds.

I don’t want to sound patronising but are you sure it’s not just a melee lunge? I’ve seen a few people on these forums claim that the lunge distance on a standard melee is surprisingly long.
No way, It cannot be a melee lunge as it covers around 5 metres. It also cannot be a dash then melee combo because I myself have tried the dash / melee combo and you cannot perform the melee until the dash is complete meaning you can actually go to close to your opponent before you can actually hit melee…
Clearly it’s not something many people seem to bothered by so it might be just me not hitting sprint quick enough.

You know, I get burned a lot when it comes to melee. I’ll lose more often than not and it’s not even close. I’ll have full shield and I feel like before I eve hit melee im dead. It could be the distance throwing me off…I’m going to have to get in a custom game and see what the distance is.

You may be right. I received a new BR yesterday that increased my effective melee range. Considered that Halos melee range is pretty big with that weapon I could see how someone could misinterpret it as a charge.

Sounds about right, can confirm charge needs charge up
There is a bayonetta attatchment you can use for standard loadout weapons in warzone. I have a few. It increases melee range, they are probably using that.
I will most certainly be keeping my fingers crossed for a bayonet weapon. Coming from the Gears of War series i am against melee of any variety but you cant avoid it with Halo so one must adapt.
