Was playing a match recently where this champ was absolutely crushing people with the sword, and we sorted out that he was combining it with spartan charge somehow. Anyone else tried this or had success? Never seen it before or since, but our whole team talked afterwards about how disorienting it was–he’d appear to be way outside the lunge range, then a second later, you’re dead. Think he literally had like 20 sword kills on the match.
Spartan Charge with a sword is a one-hit kill. Sprinting effectively increases the sword’s lunge range as soon as < > shows up since that’s when a player can charge.

Interesting. So if I have a sword equipped, I don’t have to pull the trigger–I can just spartan charge and it’s automatically a one hit kill?
That has obvious advantages since triggering the lunge can be more of an art than a science (everyone has yelled "WHY WONT YOU LUNGE at least a few times), while spartan charge is obviously predictable and can be done with certainty at the touch of a button.

Yep, exactly
Similar thing for the Gravity Hammer too. You can pull RT and you will lunge and perform the primary attack from a longer distance while sprinting.

Champs usually play very aggressive and map move very well looking for their next victim. Take a deep breathe and play smart with your fireteam.
