I know a large number of threads have been posted about the spartan charge ability but whilst i think the ability adds an interesting dynamic to the games its ability to lock onto players is way too strong.
In a game yesterday an enemy managed to spartan charge me after i had just clambered onto a small platform at least the height of a spartan above ground level (on riptide). Not to mention its ability to turn corners. It seems that this should be an ability where a straight (or very nearly straight) run is needed for it to work.
The jump Spartan charge is useful and punishing. I do certainly hate when it happens to me. Gotta turn up that volumen and try to listen out for sprinting Spartans. It’s a added skill like the Pistol. The risk reward I feel is far, whiffing on these things will almost certainly give the other team a kill.

All the spartan charge is, is a way to easily transfer a melee hit from the sprinting ability… Its seamless
Plus I actually think its more of a risk to charge someone as you are left in the recover animation for a half a second… thats enough time for the other guy to land a couple ar shots on you and land their own melee hit.
Spartan charge is good in theory. But I also believe it’s an ability that shouldn’t have even been given. With melee you at least have to try and get close, with the spartan charge it gives you that extra burst of speed before inevitably becoming the equivalent of a “noob combo”. For example, spartan charge then like a single shot from the AR, one of the most frustrating things to happen! There’s also the downside to the charge where if someone is already aware you’re charging them and you just shoot them chances are the charge will lose. Overall I’m not a fan of it, would like to see the utilities like the power drain and regen come back (like in Halo 3) where there were just a few scattered on the map instead of everyone being able to spam an OP ability
Yea but melees are fine because they are an up close bit of the gameplay. Spartan charge has quite a bit of range and is also a one hit kill from behind. Also having the lock on feature is pretty ridiculous, means you don’t really have to aim just be in the general direction. It takes away the gun play because you just charge them then shoot them once

I generally agree here but its just how easily it locks on to people, so much so that during the final surge where its purely boosting they turn quite sharp corners and arc up into the air. Just tone down the lock on and it would be fine.
