Spartan Charge is nooby?

But…I hardly ever get the opportunity to use it! Seriously, I’m never in a position where I can use Spartan Charge in any way that will deal more damage to someone. Occasionally, I’ll use it as a second thrust, but usually I just slide instead!

How the hell does anyone even use Spartan Charge?

I think most people who complain about it play a lot of SWAT, as its an insta-kill in that gametype as well as Breakout.

In reality the Spartan Abilities aren’t used much at all, especially in higher CSR games.

If you pay attention to any of the tournaments you’ll know how rare it is to see a guy get Spartan Charged.

Nah, it’s perfectly fine… nothing to see here.

Dat second charge tho

I’m getting MW2 flashbacks.

I think its more tactical than nooby, it was nooby before because people couldn’t counter it very well but now that they can people need to know when is the right time to charge

Dat magnetism, you just fly right at them. Why is Spartan Charge Vertical?

I had the game this recently where 3 enemies on the opposing were only Spartan charging in swat. After getting a lead of a few points, we jump into their Spartan charging game. We could clearly see the one and only that wasn’t Spartan charging throughout the game as he manage to get like 22 kills :stuck_out_tongue:

How do you counter it? Because i’ve yet to successfully dodge a charge? Tried evading to the side they end up hitting my feet, try jumping, they fly right up at you, or hit your feet.

Try thrusting backwards, they charge further forwards then you do backwards. 343i seems to add stupid mechanics/abilities to their games that always end up getting abused, Halo 4 had noob vision, this games got spartan charge. “Herp a derp, lets reward them for running mindlessly at the enemy”

but you will see lots of Ground Pounds

I remember in the beta, I got a game-ending kill in the middle of Empire with a Ground Pound. My buddy I was playing with at the time was like “Holy -Yoink-, that was amazing!”

That’s really my only fond memory from the beta.

I just get annoyed with how it has an AOE that hits me when I jump thrust to the side to avoid it as well as it hits the wall or anything that’s remotely near the enemy spartan and negates the damage whenever I use it.

It should be removed from SWAT for sure, but in other modes it’s well balanced. If you get charged, their shields drop, and 9/10 times you get an assist for their death five seconds after you die because someone sees them and does the headshot. So at most they’re just trading kills to feel like they’ve contributed. Again, definitely needs to be nerfed or removed in SWAT, because you mostly die in one hit anyways in SWAT, so there’s no real downside to doing it. You always end up just as weak as taking a body shot at most. Maybe if you’re sprinting in SWAT other players get higher magnetism towards headshots on you.

While we’re at it, the SWAT playlist could definitely use some variant modes for DMR, Carbine and or Light Rifle. Anything to reduce the number of times I get stuck playing that atrocity 343 calls SWATnums…

(and maybe just remove the Pegasus map entirely. Freaking cross-map sight lines between bases on an incline is just horrible design)

When they charge is when you trust back or to the side if you do it before they will get you corners are also a weakness as the charge is straight forward, and lastly using an automatic and meleeing them as they charge will kill them before or just when you get damaged

Just recently, I saw a dude sprinting at me. I put a few AR rounds into him but he didn’t stop running at me. I saw it coming and…thrusted to the side before he charged. He missed, so I just thwapped him to finish him lol. So thrusting before they even charge works too. They’re so focused on going straight forward, they don’t react when you thrust early.

Since it’s just a cheap move for an easy kill…nearly as bad as armour lock was. I hope they remove it from later games with things like ground pound removed. Melee kills should stick to normal melee’s instead of what feels like cheating when boost charging.

Ground pound actually requires skill

It’s quite fun to use on Breakout.

It wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t have so much aim assist. Yesterday I was playing Grifball and I barely missed with my Spartan Charge, then the aim assist sent me in a circle around my target.

I like the mechanic itself, I just don’t like it’s effective range. If the range were cut by like 25% it would be fine.
