Actually, it’s not. But I needed a nice click-bate title. In all seriousness, here is how I would like Spartan Charge to be implemented.
Since the release of Halo 5, many people have taken issue with Spartan Charge. As with most features of this game, some people want Spartan Charge gone and others want it to stay. In the interest of compromise, here is how I think Spartan Charge should be implemented (preferably in the Memories of Reach update):
Spartan Charge should require a charge much like Ground Pound has. When ground pounding, the longer one hovers in air, the more damage the attack does. For Spartan Charge, the longer a spartan sprints the more power Spartan Charge will have. As one’s Spartan sprints the Spartan Charge reticle will expand (going from the distance it was in the beta to the distance it is now). As the reticle widens, the attack will do more damage and the knock back will be greater. I was thinking that a player would need to sprint at max speed for a distance of about 20 feet for the reticle to max out. The weakest Spartan Charge will drop a players shields like a normal melee. The most powerful charge will drop their shields and reduce their health bar like the current Spartan Charge does.
This implementation should balance Spartan Charge because players won’t simply be able to run around a corner and guarantee a kill with Spartan Charge due to its knock back. Players will be forced to invest in the attack as opposed to using it as a cheap shot.
The damage is fine, what they really need to do is increase the cooldown time so that they can just start running again so soon. And increase the distance needed to reach the required momentum to use it. Theres no reason why it should be active after only like 10 feet of running.
to counter, if thats how spartan charge should be nerfed then melee should be as well to reduce panic melees. To reduce shields as one punch does not, the button should be held for a certain amount of time, the max hold length drops shields.
Most spartan charges that occur when running around a corner is just a panic melee reaction. So if spartan charges should be nerfed then so should the base melee. See what I am getting at? that both possess the same function (though spartan charge knock back sucks, that should be reduced out of anything) therefore they both should be changed in the same way.

Increasing the distance you run to do max damage is what I’m proposing essentially. However, I’m saying that if you run less than the max distance you will do less damage.

My implementation basically turns around the corner charges into a panic melee by reducing the knock back and damage.
You are aware ppl could still be sprinting for 5-10 seconds an meet you at this corner to SC you that you are so concerned about. Changing charge time won’t decrease that at all

It won’t eliminate it but it will reduce it. Better than nothing though. Right?

seriously it is broken and I’ve noticed that the only people that like it are the people that constantly use it. Name a single positive thing that it does.

the biggest difference is the lunge and the huge tracking it does as well as the extra da.age. It is essentially a better panic melee. From my experience playing the game though panic melee is not very effective I this game due to thrusts.

That’s speculation no proof or evidence it would reduce it. Plus I have no complaints. It’s just. More reason to -Yoink!- someone when they eff up SC me. You miss you get my nutz in your Spartans face

if you came in to hate him does that mean you like Spartan charge?

I really wish people would stop attempting to use cancer as a metaphor. I understand that they don’t comprehend the emotional and physical pain that those with a form of cancer and their loved ones actually suffer, but I still feel it is an inappropriate comparison.

Perhaps, but I think people are not referring to the pain cancer causes those unfortunate enough to be inflicted with it, but rather the nature of the disease itself. By calling something a cancer you are saying it causes a vast array of issues (because cancer causes uncontrolled cell growth resulting in damage to the body). Regardless, I did not intend to insult anyone with the disease. It was just a click-bate title.

If you actually read the OP you’d see he doesn’t hate it, but thinks it could be tweaked. I like his suggestions, but I’m not against keeping Spartan Charge the same as it is now. Could do without the clickbait title, but that does seem to get people into threads sadly enough.
