So I’ve been watching a lot of Halo 5 guardians gameplay, mainly Warzone. I was just thinking how about how powerful is the Spartan Charge and Ground Pound when it comes to attacking vehicles. I mean, Spartan charge v. Boosting ghost? Ground Pound v. Scorpion? These and other questions come to mind. Like in Saint’s Row, the higher you are when you do a ground pound you do a way powerful attack. Now if I was in a Banshee, flew up pretty high then ejected to do a Ground Pound, would it be the same amount of damage or would I die from the height of it?
Groundpound seems like it’ll make it really easy to board a tank.
Everything is the same no matter what height… And if you jump out of a perfectly good banshee to ground pound someone you deserve to get tank blasted into another solar system

Theres a gif going around, dont have a link, of a guy groundpounding a tank. Hr just bounces off anf the driver utterly demolishes him. I have a feeling it will flip light vehicles, impair mid range, and hardly dent heavies.

Oh great. Give everyone an idea to do this BEFORE the game comes out why don’t you. Now people will do this day one lol. Screw it, I’ll be just as guilty.

I don’t have a link but I’ve seen that gif and its hard to tell if he bounced off or just missed lol even though the ground and pound target was on the tank it looks like he didn’t go far enough.

That guy landed on the ground.
I’m talking about using groundpound to quickly get on top of the tank and board it with little effort.
I expect to see a Ghost EXPLODE from a perfect GP.
I’m sure the Scorpion will lose some plating, but a Spartan couldn’t stop it in one hit.
I’m not sure how I feel about ground and pound. Hopefully it’s not too over powered to where that’s all people use

He landed on the back of the Tank, but was forced to the ground because of the geometry of the tank.

Here you go. Enjoy the hilariousness.
I doubt it’d be easy to get a perfect groundpound onto a tank, especially if it’s moving and especially if it’s got an escort or sees you coming. We’ll see when the game comes out, but I don’t think it’ll be happening left and right.
I’m thinking ground pound isn’t that strong against vehicles, even against light armored vehicles like the ghost.
jump to around 5:10: notice how high his teammate was in the air, and all he did was kill the driver of the ghost, it was still in working order.
The video is RUL’s second Raid gamplay vid fyi

It would make for an awesome last kill. And if the banshee lands on someone you can get a splatter out of it too. Om reach I had a nice quad kill suicide gamer ender jumping out of a falcon with rockets tanking out a tank and others. I would think if you can flip a warthog, you can do some damage Spartan charging a vehicle. I hate to bring up armor lock, but if a ghost van explode upon the impact of an immobile Spartan, what would the impact be if they Spartan charge one?

regardless, groundpound will make it super easy to close the distance between a player and the tank from a high vantage point.
Spartan charge is the same damage as a standard melee, so I don’t foresee it doing any more damage then basic melee v.s. a vehicle. Fun side note, Spartan charge is actually a sprint+melee nerf disguised as an ability.
As for ground pound, I am not sure what kind of damage it will inflict on a vehicle. I would think a direct hit on an exposed player inside a vehicle would be an instant kill, just like ground pound v.s. someone on foot.
Are the cooldowns for Ground Pound and Boost tied together?
I feel like the guy in the gif should have been able to boost out of the way before the tank blasted him

I think it’d be awesome to see someone eject from a Banshee and ground pound down. They’d have fire around them like they’re re-entering orbit and hitting terminal velocity. That’d be hilarious. Let it happen. I’ll allow it.
