Spartan augmentation

I’m pretty knowledgeable about the halo universe but I can’t recall if there is ever talk about ligament reinforcement in the spartan program. Is there?

Edit: missed a few words.

My edit should clear things up.

I don’t think its explicitly listed in any of the augmentation procedures for any of the programs but it stands to reason that they would be.

Logic says you can’t make muscles and bones stronger and faster without also making the things that connect them stronger too.

Yeah I don’t know if they mention it specifically, I am revisiting Fall of Reach, and they specifically talk about muscle density, neurons, and reinforced skeletal structure. But maybe it is identical to the strengthening of their muscles. They become very dense and powerful.

I think they do mention something about tendons being reinforced.

I feel like they might have mentioned it in The Fall of Reach when talking about why the Spartans were the only ones capable of wearing MJOLNIR armor.

I checked. That’s where they mention it.

Here is what I have found as verified augmentations for the Spartan IV’s… ligament reconstruction is mentioned specifically.

SPARTAN-IV AUGMENTATION
Torpet Datacluster Installation

  • Neural interface controller - Dataport - Biomonitoring Implant Muscular/Skeletal Engineering Series

  • Ligament reconstruction joint reinforcement plating - Skeletal fullerene lattice - Skeletal re-engineering - Induced muscle growth - Muscle grafts completed Neurological Series

  • Element treatments - Cyclic-AMP Response - Neuro-endocrine rebuild - Super-myelination sheathing Organ Implantation

  • Biofabricated organ series - STONEWELL lung surfactant - Polythread cardiac weave - Corneal implants - Anti-rejection treatments Circulartory and Metabolic Improvement

  • K5.2 Hemoescutcheon - Intelli-fibrin acclimation - Circulatory shunts - Gut microbiota refresh - Intestinal bioreactor End Cap Augmentation

  • Hormone regulation - Bioprofile archived Gene Therapy

  • Chondrocyte effectiveness - Telomere lengthening
I am a huge fan of understanding the modifications used to create the different classes of Spartans. I would absolutely love to see a definitive list of augmentations made to each Spartan class, including the different Spartan-III classes, which had significant changes made between some classes. If anyone has knowledge of where a complete list of augmentations is located, a link would be tremendously appreciated! I would love to add anything that I can to contribute to that list.

The Fall of Reach has some good insight about what happens to the Spartans. Both good and bad. Pretty spooky at times.

Awesome, I wasn’t familiar with the Spartan IV augmentation procedures.
Where is did you find this information???

Should be in your loot crate.

Originally, I found this information on a really cool X-ray film included in the Halo Legendary loot crate I received a few days ago, but I did some searches on the procedures listed and found the same list of augmentations with additional descriptions at the following Halopedia article:

Another thing that I feel doesn’t get pointed out very often is the Telomere lengthening that I believe was performed on all Spartan classes, including the original Orion class that included Sergeant Johnson. I understand that telomere shortening is one of the primary causes of aging after becoming fully developed around the age of 25. So, does this mean that Spartans could far outlive their unaugmented buddies? Together with cryogenic storage during space travel experienced by Spartans for most of the life so far (especially before the recent advances in Slipspace drives from Forerunner tech discoveries), so how long could Master Chief and the other Spartans maintain themselves in peak physical and mental condition? Master Chief has had some additional mental and genetic tinkering, thanks to the Librarian, so how long could he continue to be the hero of humanity, assuming he doesn’t get blown apart or killed by some drastic means? I would also like to know if any of this tinkering with Spartans, or even just Master Chief, has affected their vulnerability of flood infection? Are there scientists and doctors actively looking for a cure for the flood? I haven’t heard much about scientific and medical advancement made since the discoveries of such a tremendous amount of Forerunner technology, outside of what was being done to space ships, weapons and tech for Spartans or the military in general. I would really like to know how all of these discoveries are advancing human-kind, as a species, society (Including religion), and economy. We get some of this in the novels, but not much about the new advances and how they are affecting everything. I hope we get to see more of this kind of rich information in the upcoming novels, short stories, comics, games, and everything else Halo that is coming.

they reference it for the SIVs augmentations and its inferred in nylunds very extensive how to make supersoldiers 101 section
