I noticed Spartan Assault was out today instead of tomorrow so i bought it right away,But for some reason the game just crashed on Operation Umbra in A-3 near the end of the stage.
Wondering if anyone else has had it crash or anything.
Only other game i have had ever crash is BF4. And once AC4 crashed.
Can you walk us through what exactly happened before it crashed? And when you mean that it crashed, did it freeze or return you to the dashboard?
What region are you located in and have you noticed a continuation of this reported behavior since?
The launchers i was escorting started firing and then it was about to say “Mission Complete” but it booted me to the dashboard as it said it.
Then i just had to play the level again and it did not crash again until just a few mins ago.
The second time it crashed i was at the beginning of Operation Tempered Shield.
I was just defending the doors and about 2 mins in i seen a yellow exclamation point in the middle of the screen in a yellow triangle, then it crashed to dashboard once again and i just restarted it again.
I have had at least 4 crashes. They seem to occur when starting a mission. Here’s my best recollections.
Game quit completely, thrown to Dashboard - occurred at least twice, I believe after hitting Menu (Ready) on the screen where you can choose to add Skulls. Or it may have been after hitting A on the next screen. I know the mission didn’t start.
Game quit completely, thrown to Dashboard - occurred when selecting Abort Mission. I was replaying the beginning of A-4 rapidly to grind the Wraith grenade Weekly. Happened after about 10 Aborts.
Game froze, blank screen with blue border as the game was about to bring up the final screen before the mission begins. (The screen where you hit A to start. There is always a little quote near the bottom of the screen.) Music kept playing. I could go back to Dashboard. But since I don’t know how to Force Quit an X1 game, I had to shut off the console.
to force quit a game just highlight the game window wile in home screen and press the menu button,what would be the old start button, and then choose quit in the small menu that pops up:-)

In regards to my crashes, I am in the US region. (Sorry for the double post; I didn’t know there was Edit under the Menu button.)

Mine has crashed multiple times. I’ll just be walking along or fighting, and it will send me back to the dashboard, and I’ll have to reboot the game. It even did it once when I pressed pause.

I’ve been having this problem too. To be fair it happened in essentially all the other games I bought in their first couple days of release. I don’t think it’s a 343 problem. I think it’s a Microsoft problem. Call them up and let them know that it’s annoying. 
When i went to play mission a-3 i accidently got ran over wolverine twice. First i got squished between a wolverine and a rock. Second time it just plain out ran me over but both times it kicked me to the dashboard. PS i have the xbox one and i live in California USA. Then on mission a-4,i believe it as, right when i climbed out the wraith and crossed the valley, before it said mission completed it kicked me to the dashboard. When i went to play co-op, before it found a player, it kicked me to the dashboard. Other than that it’s a awesome game and can’t wait for halo for xbox one next year.
I have been crashing repeatedly, it usually happens right at the end of the mission, but i have crashed mid-game as well…

If it was a Microsoft software problem i would expect Forza 5,and Dead Rising 3 to be crashing to Home all the time too, But neither has crashed once.
I have had AC4BF Crash to home once while boarding a ship but only that one time in over 30 hours played.
Only other game i have had any crashes in is BF4 and thats all Dice.
+another1 with crashing issues.
It appears it happens when there is some type of transition i.e.:
When I select something on the load out and then return to the mission screen.
When the game is about to say Mission Completed.
When I press [whatever button it is] to start the mission.
At the end of a cutscene and the mission is about to start.

Thank you to those of you reporting this issue. The following information from each of you would be beneficial to our investigation:
I just had the same thing happen to me also (third time) after completing a mission I was booted back to the home screen. I was in mission A-3 reinforcement of the perch. Not sure if it is of any use but I have not had a crash in any other app or game on the xbox one.
This keeps happening to me as well. Last one just now B-2 right in the middle of the mission,just playing normally and kicked me back to home screen. Have to restart mission.
I am experiencing a similar problem since downloading Halo Spartan Assault on Tuesday for Xbox One. For the first hour, my game ran perfectly fine, but now it keeps randomly crashing/shutting down the game and returning me back to the main X1 home screen.
The crashing occurs when I am about to press A to start a single player mission or it will crash right when I complete a mission and I lose all the in game progress completed for that particular level. This second crashing of the game is particularly troubling especially since it prevents me from sometimes completing the requirements for the game
s achievements.
As to when this crashing to home screen occurs, it appears highly random. One minute I’ll be playing a mission with no crashing, but then a few minutes later experience a crash either right when starting a mission or when about to finish a mission.
Nothing out of the ordinary occurs before the crash to home screen, the game appears to be running fine and then just shut itself down.
The game has not frozen, it just always crashes me back to the X1 home screen and I then have to restart the game from there.
This problem of crashing has occurred at least 8 times split between my initial purchase of Halo Spartan Assault on Tuesday and while playing the game for an hour on Wednesday.
I have been able to complete missions, I’ve so far played through all A missions and B missions, but then the crashing glitch/bug will randomly kick in and prevent me from starting a mission or completing it.
At first, I was worried this was caused by the console itself. but I see others gamers on hear are reporting a similar issue with the game. So, I doubt the issue is being generated from the console itself, rather the game has a bug or glitch that is causing it. I’ve played several other disc based games and downloadable ones like Killer Instinct and have not experienced a crash to home screen as Halo Spartan Assault has done.
Anyway, I hope you guys are able to resolve this problem, because I do enjoy playing Halo Spartan Assault, when it lets me that is.

Just bought spartan assault for the Xbox one and like the others my game randomly throws me back to dashboard and I have to start the game up again. I think this is an Xbox one software problem as it happens with other games as well. …I wish they hadn’t rushed an unfinished console out
