Whenever I start the game it crashes immediately with no error screens. It loads the screen where it says “Halo Spartan Assault” and then the game closes. It still says it is running in the background, but when I click on it to start the game again, the same thing happens. The game closes immediately. I’ve tried resetting my computer and uninstalling the game. Neither of which helped. If anyone else is having this issue please let me know. If anyone comes across any solutions to this it would be greatly appreciated!

Having the exact same issue. Tried restarting the computer multiple times. Running Windows 8 64-bit and can play any game max settings. The fact this game doesn’t work is very aggravating
Having the same issue. The only thing that I have heard is that this could have something to do with the severs. Past that IDK

O_o? Don’t remember any issues when they release real Halo games…
I will wait, but just wondering, how exactly do servers tie into this? I’m not questioning whether or not it is an issue involving servers, I am just curious. The only online capability is leaderboards, you’d think once it is downloaded and installed there is no need for internet for it to function. Right? Or wrong? Just wondering.

It happens with every single Halo game, at least since Halo 3. The mass influx of players overtaxes the servers and the game crashes. It happened with Halo 3, it happened with the Reach beta, it happened with Reach and it happened with Halo 4. It takes awhile for the dust to settle.

Must not have been playing the same games as you because I never had any issues. Played the crap out of every game at launch - even had Reach hours before anyone in the U.S. - and absolutely zero issues…
Are there any system requirements for the game? This happens to me too…matbe we don’t have what it takes to play the game?

For me it is as follows:

No detailed steps, bought the game, installed, saw it in the Metro interface and then clicked on it to launch. Then i saw the starting screen sayin Halo: Spartan Assault…and then the game gets killed immediately!

Memory: 6 GB DDR3 (1x2 GB,1x4 GB)
HDD 750 GB SATA
Graphics: Double GPU AMD Radeon HD 7520G/7670M (with its own 1GB of memory)

I purchased the game, it installed the app. Click on the app, it loads start-up screen - then crashes back to metro. I was going to try and access my winapps folder and try to run the game in desktop mode, but it requires a little bit of editing, and I couldn’t be bothered.
I have a multi-monitor setup, I’ve tried to run the game on a single monitor without success. Also no of my monitors are touch screen, if that makes any difference.

I’m having the same issue with this PC.
Things I did leading up to the crash -
Purchased it
Browsed some other websites for a bit
Still Waiting for Download
Waited for it to Install
Clicked on the Icon on the Start Screen
and… Boom!! Kicks me back to the Start screen
OS - Microsoft Windows 8 Pro with Media Center
Version - 6.2.9200 Build 9200 (not sure what that means but whatevzz)

1GB Ram
Compaq-Presario PC
Same issues as above. Spent 45 minutes installing and uninstalling and then it wouldn’t sign in and then just quit out to the dashboard. Whatever I just see as a waste of $7. I’ll just wait for it to come to XBLA some day cuz you know it will.

I’ve got the same problem. Bought the game, install it, try to run - crash.

Meh, that’s why other devs do a try-version (called demo). There’s no disappointing, when the game is not working.
The game gets to the title screen and after about half a second it takes me back to the Start screen. I have a Dell Inspiron, Intel Core 2 DUO (2.13), 4GB of RAM,a 500GB hard drive, and I have Windows 8 Pro x64.
Really want to play this game! Hope to hear some good news soon!

If it helps I have the same issue and last night I figured out if you disable the graphics driver under device manager the game will start but the quality and tearing is so terrible it’s unplayable. Like playing Crysis without a graphics card.
