Okay I know the point of the req packs is to randomize the rewards, but also the fact that Armor and Helmets, visors and gun skins are so hard to come by, don’t you think 343 should make it a bit easier to obtain these items?
I mean check it, for the Armor and Helmets, there is what? 100+ items? Don’t you think they can afford to make the armor and helmets a bit more common? Then there is the visors that are nearly impossible to get. Same with the gun skins, and gun variants.
Now I know you have a “better” chance at hitting these items with the 10,000 req points pack but still its 1/100,000 to actually hit the item(s).
Before you call me a casualist or a noob, actually think it through and prospect on it.

I have actually done the calculations for this. There are nearly 1100 obtainable permanent unlocks, nearly 1010 being req pack only. Your chances of getting just one of the items you want, assuming you’re sitting at 0% completion, is about 0.001%.

Which I still assume is not good.

Well that’s for you to decide. It would take nearly four million req points to get all the unlocks. So if you’re the unlucky type, yeah, this is very bad for you.
They should make it you can buy what you want with req points, depending on your rank. So that rank has meaning again, and people have a reason to spend their req points, other than blind RNG.

They should remove customization from the req system entirely. Give as back the Halo 3 and Halo 4 reward system. Halo 3, you were rewarded with armor for completing certain objectives. The nicer the armor, the harder the objective is to reach. In Halo 4, the same principle was applied, but with commendations. Different commendation completion would result in different customization. In Halo 5, it’s blind luck, not skill.

Both of your ideas are innovative and I like that idea, I actually miss the ways of Halo 3. Rank should mean something if it is going to be implemented into the game. Otherwise there is no point in playing.
