So from the trailer for the halo 5 beta shows the spartans and this is just my opinion, so please all negative useless comments are to be refrain since they do not bring any benefit or help these forums. also no Nerd raging please. its not really worth the time.
So to the main topic i honestly is not looking nice i just feel it looks bland but then this is just one armor so who knows if this will be the actual armor or just a demo one. In my opinion it kinda looks cheap if you compare this armor, ill call it the starter Armor (SA), it looks pretty lame in comparison to all the other recruit armors or SA from previous games. Honestly i loved the recruit armor from halo 4 it had this cool ODST mixed with Moljrn armor and i love the warrior armor it looked sleak and manuverable not clunky ad what not it was really nice for assasinations.
This armor iv seen in the new halo 5 beta trailer to me just doesnt look up to Par to the others from previous games. Again we do not know if this is just a concept for the trailer or if it in fact the real armor you will be starting off with so we will just have to wait and see.
This is just one mans opinion and its a total cosmetic opinion which has nothing to do with the history or Lore of halo games just the looks entirely but agian the looks of your armor carry a heavy weight of game enjoyment because no one wants to run around in cheap looking badly designed Armor right.
At least it’s bulkier, more matted, and far less shiny looking than Halo 4’s.
It resembles the Mark V (b) in several ways too, so heh.
EDIT: It can’t even be confirmed whether or not this is a default setup and not some tailored kit to properly demonstrate the engine in Halo 5. Heck Halo: Reach wasn’t supposed to have ceramic pieces used with default knee armor. The shoulders resemble SPI pauldron with its organic, exotic design.
i Do like the MAtte look makes it more realistic bulky not to sure i like bulky i liked the sleak look if we are talking about tactical gear you dont want to be bulky you want to be sleak so you can move much quicker. and if the creaters want to go with realistic looks and in this game it seems like the armor is evolving in every game they will keep going in a sleek look over lets add more weight and unneeded stuff though i agree the magazine pouches and stuff of that sort did give the armor a more realistic and bette look that i would opt to have but as far as bulkier armor im not a fan of it yes it looks very sparta ish but then again its evolutionary armor and as the tech they have access to becomes better so does the armor.

Well either it’s just a place holder for the trailer or knowing 343i and how they want the multiplayer to be canon to the story, i’d say it’s S-IV training armor. Another theory of mine is by judging from the trailer, they actually took it to a whole new level and made it in to an actual arena with a t.v audience and everything.
But hey, that’s just a theory! A GAME THEORY! Thanks for watching!
> Although I wasn’t a big fan of Halo Reach, I will admit that it hosted the best looking spartan armor to date by a mile.

I agree but i’d also like to add that I want them to create the Katana V2
By that I mean, when somebody had Katana in the early years of Halo 3, they were looked up to by some of the community, if we could get something like that, that takes time and effort to obtain and not just multiplayer talent, not necessary a replace of the Katana but something unique like it.
I’m guessing this is just the new default suit, or maybe one of the ones that are unlocked early in the game; like how when 343 was showing off Halo 4 and everyone was wearing Warrior armor. Anyway, they need to stick with Gen. 2, because it’s just too soon for an upgrade, especially for an armor platform that is so, from an engineering perspective, incredible compared to previous generations. Think about it, the modern military will often field a certain device or technology for decades if it does its job right, and the UNSC is no different, having used the M6 pistol for well over a century; and yet, Mark VI is finalized a YEAR after Mark V? And almost everyone is already using Gen. 2 by 2557? What the hell?
I’m also a big fan of the modifications and attachments that were accessible in Halo Reach, so obviously I want both. There’s no canonical rule against this, after all, Paul DeMarco clearly has several soft-cases affixed to his greaves.
i never liked the halo 4 armor i really enjoyed reaches tho one of my biggest problems with H4 armor was the fact the all the chest plates hung low on the chest and it made the neck look really weird
Compared to the Halo 4 armor, I’d say the ones from the Halo 5 beta trailer look far better. For supposedly being power armor, the Halo 4 armor doesn’t even look like it could support itself, like it was mostly a stylized wetsuit with plastic clutter stuck to it. It in no way translated to me that these suit would make a person more powerful.
In Reach it was the opposite. The armor looked like it was mostly solid, and had a mass produced, utilitarian look like you would expect from military gear. Even the armor pieces were mostly just attachments that went onto a base armor, similar to Halo 3’s armor customization. So, to me, I’d say that Halo 4’s design wasn’t up to par with other Halo games, but what we briefly saw in the beta trailer leads me to believe they may be fixing that.
