Why do they have such small feet?

I suggest you take another look my friend. They appear to have rather wide feet but are they are lacking in the length department.

I have large feet for my height and age, and I don’t think the Chief’s feet are too small.
This is a spartans foot
and this is my foot.
As you may be able to tell I have tried to take both photos in the same position so it can be as accurate as possible.
Also I should add that I am not the only person that has noticed how small spartan’s feet are, and I personally do not have particularly large feet.
It might be better to take a picture of a Spartan’s foot next to a Magnum (or some other weapon). Halo Nation has dimensions (straight from Bungie) of the Magnum, and thus you can figure out, more or less, the big-ness or small-ness of a Spartan III’s foot.
