In Halo 1, the soldiers would often tuck and roll out of harms way. Why are these Spartans just standing there? When a certain enemy or boss comes swinging at them with a damn melee device, a roll maneuver would be very Spartan. In the books, they often pre-anticipated these sort of attacks. Their reflex times are through the roof…especially, Spartan II’s. S2’s have all the nervous systems augmentations.
Also, their shields are too weak. They go down way too often. Also, when you issue a kill command they all go and rush toward the target, instead of shooting from at length and from behind cover. We need a REAL stay and go command. If you issue them to a location, and you go and scout ahead, they are suddenly right back behind you. This is a problem when, say, you know of a flank attack or enemy spawn point that is going to occur and all your Spartans are now with you, instead of strategically placed.
