The majority of the time I find myself trying to use the sprint charge/melee ability it ends up doing more harm for me than it does to my opponent. If a regular melee is enough to take out a Spartans shields then why doesn’t the sprint charge do something more? I’m not saying it should kill your opponent unless done from behind, but it should stun them or something considering its a melee plus the force of a Spartan smashing into you being boosted by a thruster pack. Currently when I use it it takes too long after using to do something else. there’s like a pause that leaves you exposed and you can’t do anything. This leads to the opponent just punching you twice and killing you or pumping you full of bullets and killing you even though I was the one to initiate the attack, and if I had just sprayed him down with bullets rather than try to use the fancy new charge ability I would’ve put him on the ground with shields to spare. What do you guys think? I’m a DECENT halo player, my KD is 6.0 in the beta, but I feel like the charge ability isn’t improving the experience unless used on the enemy from behind. I know that the majority of the time that people use the Spartan charge melee ability against me I shut them down. Please share your thoughts!

Halo is a shooter first and foremost. It’s very important that these Spartan abilities don’t take away from the gun play. The charge damage is fine where it is. Any stronger, and people would just be running around charging each other all day.

That’s an excellent point, but it seems dumb to put it in if there’s no incentive for taking the risk of charging your opponent I think its be cool if it knocked them on the ground and disoriented them so it made the reticule go haywire but still making a reversal possible. idk as of now you’re punishing yourself if you try to use it.

No that shouldnt happen at all as it would ruin the flow of the game and make it OP. It should remain as having equal damage to one melee but have its recovery period reduced drastically.
