Spartan Abilities proves to be an improvement or the armour abilities from Halo Reach and Halo 4. But they’re not flawless, and these issues need to be addressed. Here some of the changes that, in my opinion, could work:
-
Sprint: When someone gets shot, while sprinting, make the player stop sprinting; - Spartan Charge: Two options: remove it, or remove the “lock-on” mechanic for it; - Smart-scope: Go back to a full screen smart-link, and for weapons with added features (ex.: COG scope, enhanced scope) be there, just for custom, super fiesta and/or warzone.I think it’s pretty simple, but can be a game changer if 343i takes a look at them.
Sprint is fine, also about the weapon enhancements: if a feature from the game can’t be implemented over all versions of the game I.E. social, ranked, Warzone then it shouldn’t be in the game at all. Not having something in one playlist but having it in another just shows that one branch isn’t willing to move forward with the series on a whole.

What I meant by that is the weapon variants like the ones you use on warzone.
I wish that Ground Pound has a higher chance of killing multiple people at once. It’s so annoying when you hurl into a crowd, yet you can only kill a single person at a time.
Sprint is fine.
Spartan charge - remove it.
Ground pound - maybe increase the damage as I feel that skill is needed when using this, the payoff for a pound is not worth it. Especially when you don’t kill anyone.
Smart scope - I’m fine with it.
I honestly just wish they’d do away with ground pound. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had my share of pretty cool kills with it and it’s gotten me out of some sticky situations, but it’s really a pretty cheap move. Where in previous Halos, you could still use your height to gain an advantage and drop down on someone unsuspecting, ground pound takes the element away from working for that kill and also feels like a cheap death to the person who it kills down below when they’re unsuspecting. Especially in a game like Strongholds where on multiple maps, the middle zone is down below and there are various ledges to ground pound off of. It makes it extremely difficult to have seriously competitive games when the person up high doesn’t even need to worry about being shot at, he can just skydive down on top of someone and kill them when they had no idea they were even being targeted.

Are you kidding me? Ground pound offers a huge risk/reward system that not many features in Halo have done.
You can get a kill or know out an enemy’s shields, but you loose the high ground and can be killed while charging the pound. Thrusters can counter it as they can simply move out of the way, and the recovery time after the Spartan has completed the ground pound is long enough where if you missed the shot and didn’t kill the target, you’re probably going to be killed.
There is a ton of skill, timing, and more behind ground pound.
Sprint already has a similar mechanic when you get shot and you stop sprinting and I think it’s fine for the game so far. There’s no explanation for Spartan Charge as about every one wants it removed. Smart Scope I think is fine but I don’t mind if there’s a full screen option or it.

You are 1000 pounds of armor traveling at a good dozen or more miles per hour DOWNWARD. You should create a shockwave powerful enough to dig a five-foot deep trench and kill everything within 20 feet of you from shockwaves.
In short; yes.

Yeah, ground pounds seem completely useless unless you land on top of the guy, which is very hard to do.

that was a very good explanation, but you know how HALO doesn’t care for physics whatsoever (the melee thing how a 1000 pound armor suit can’t protect you from a punch in the back)

I fail to see how physics has anything to do with getting a broken spine from being punched in the back by a super soldier wearing powered armor.
IMO…
Sprint is fine.
Smart-Scope is fine.
Ground Pound is fine.
Spartan Charge is fine in-and-of itself; however, adjusting something such as the tracker so that would-be Chargers are easily spotted and accounted for is ideal. It might be the biggest reason why I appreciate the Abilities Tracker; though, ideally I’d like to see a hybrid tracker so that it can properly account for would-be Spartan Chargers without losing most of my tracker’s close proximity (BMS) alerts.

Nope, I’m not kidding you. It’s my opinion, you have yours. No need to be rude.
The sole fact of offering a risk/reward system does not make it a good mechanic. Losing the high ground does absolutely nothing to disadvantage you if you come even remotely close to landing near them since all it takes after that is 1 shot. And that’s IF you don’t kill them by either landing directly on top of them or getting bleed through on an already damaged enemy. Thrusters could counter yes, but as I mentioned, people are typically unsuspecting. Plus, the thrust typically doesn’t get you out of the range of splash damage if the person is on target.
There is timing involved, yes, but skill? Not so much. It takes much more skill to drop down on someone, initiate a firefight, and win that firefight than it does to divebomb onto an unsuspecting person and possibly instakill them.

Actually Last Light explained that…Veta Lopis stops Fredrick-104 cold with a small explosive in exactly that place on the armor. Obviously she can’t punch him there because she’s a normal human, but a Spartan…
