Spartan Abilities? Halo's "Destiny"

Hey guys, how do you all feel about sprinting being unlimited now? While the ‘no shield recharge’ while sprinting feature is smart I’m not a big fan of unlimited sprinting.

Though for Spartan Abilities overall, I think they are moving in the right direction by adding baseline traits for everyone to augment gameplay. In my opinion, Sprint, Slide, and Clamber are solid additions, and Clamber is my favorite. Charge is relatively harmless… reminds me of Destiny’s Titan Ability ‘Shoulder Charge.’

I suppose Smart Scope makes sense (in some other Halo media the Spartans zoom for weapons via their helmets) but I’ll need some hands on with it. Doesn’t seem like Aim Down Sights though.

The Thruster Pack is something I’m very on the fence about, I think it’s going to make energy swords very irritating so maybe they will nerf it when Spartans pick up melee weapons. Imagine the Gravity Hammer + Thruster Packs. Could be chaotic fun, but the beta will tell the tale.

Ground Pound, in my opinion, is very tricky… Personally I don’t want it, but I’ll try it. I’m so glad we have the beta to try these things out though.

Despite the comparisons to Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, I think that Halo is moving closer to Destiny with these features. Which definitely doesn’t bother me since Destiny has great core mechanics. What do you guys think?

I don’t see the Destiny comparison at all. The only similarity they share is the shields.

Unlike destiny, All of these enhanced mechanics are for everyone…As for thrusters, I feel they should be disabled for the person who has an energy sword or “Prophet’s Bane” equipped. (But of course allow this to be turned on for Custom Games).

As for sprinting, I’m okay with it.

Well quite a few people that i saw bash AA’s back in the day actually think these abilities are the right direction. Which surprises and pleases me.

Watching all of it made me more excited than I was for Halo 5 MP. Halo 4, imho, was my favorite multiplayer experience in Halo. The others were all too slow for me. And I was terrible at them. In 4 I felt that I at least had a chance, and actually got quite good at it. ;D

I think sprinting preventing shields recharging is genius. It makes a quick getaway BUT still makes you very vulnerable. The other ones just make sense.

In Destiny the Titan class is able to use a shoulder charge ability: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_RAN9YRJMQ

Plus in Destiny the Guardians are able to slide and use a shotgun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfZy5iR4vBg

Ground Pound is a bit like “Fist of Havoc” but without the magic and you actually have to be strategic with Ground Pound.

After looking at more footage of Ground Pound and seeing how accurate you have to be with it, I’m very interested in the application of it.

Cannot wait to get my hands on it for the beta.

Its all balanced and everyone has these abilities. 343 is just trying to add some good change to the franchise. Just let it be and if someone is working the way it was intended, then 343 can change it or remove it
