Spartan abilites

The abilities that Spartans have I believe are sprint so you can slide, a new jump that uses thruster packs, and it also allows for the shoulder charge and ground slam. Do you think these abilities are correct, or do you think it is something else entirely.

Who knows?

I’d say its possible, or at least concepts for abilities. They are probably heavily iterating with ideas at the moment. Building a game is not a linear process.

They don’t want to specifically announce them until they’re relatively sure they’re going with them.

Maybe the ability to grab ledges like in Titanfall (not saying I’d like this).
Maybe Double-jump with thruster like in Titanfall (not saying I’d like this).
I don’t know what to expect from the ground pound in the teaser, but I’m intrigued.
I hope 343 comes up with things that are never-before-seen in the genre, or even videogames as a whole, and I hope their ideas add to the skill-gap.

If it’s something as unoriginal and uncreative as that, I will be very disappointed. I’m hoping that 343i will innovate instead of copy-paste, like they did with Halo 4.

Sorry it’s been done in a handful of games so now unoriginal any work. Hmm lets here what hasn’t been done before? Bullet drop? Unoriginal. Digging? Unoriginal. More fluid hijacks? Done. Throw empty guns for damage? Done. Cook grenades? Done.
Saying something is unoriginal and not creative is possibly one of the dumbest things to say. Please enlighten me with your creative and original ideas.

“Handful”? They’re the AAA trend of the last six years.

What if you balanced mech and infantry combat by having the mechs be timed rewards and giving the infantry the ability to escape and elude them through quickness, agility, and acrobatics?

What if we allowed everyone to use whatever weapon they wanted to use in their loadouts, but preserved the map pickup metagame by having players fight over ammo for those weapons?

Not everything that can be done has been done before. There is still room for creativity.

he or she doesn’t need to explain you anything, since he/she probably doesn’t work
for 343i. besides that, you aren’t quite creative & original yourself, since you
also did not elaborate what would be original & creative.

I’m begging you, please don’t add armour abilities.

I think they’ll bring back “dual wielding” (Team Duals) and stuff like this. Frankie said they want to keep the game simple.
That’s why I bet there won’t be big changes like wall running or trash like that.

In the end I hope they don’t add such crap ideas

I’ll reserve my judgement for now but what I’ve seen from the trailer is pretty scary. A lot of the things we saw seem to be incorporated around sprint, which is a very, very bad thing if this is true.

> What if we allowed everyone to use whatever weapon they wanted to use in their loadouts, but preserved the map pickup metagame by having players fight over ammo for those weapons?

Turok: Rage Wars had something similar to that if I recall. You had a standard weapon, an energy weapon, and an explosive weapon and would pick one before the game started, but only your standard [Battle Rifle?] weapon had any ammo in it - you had to pick up Explosive Rounds and Energy Rounds off the map to be able to use them.

New or uncommonly used ideas would be a nice thing to see, if they worked well within Halo’s typical gameplay. But, I’m not going to suggest anything. I’m not all that savvy when it comes to Halo’s metagame and what goes into it, so my suggestions would be pointless and irrelevant.

I wouldn’t know what would “work well” with Halo, but I do know some things that definitely wouldn’t (Personal Ordinance?)
I don’t have any experience with Call of Duty, Battlefield, Titanfall, Gears, or any of these other popular games people keep mentioning either I’m afraid.

I don’t understand why people want 343 to add more to halo 5. Halo was in its prime when it was simple. Spawn, everyone had the same gun, fight for map control, the higher score wins. But now what? Earn points by distracting players? No, get ride of those stupid points. The only points that should be contributing to your victory is kill points, that’s it.
Tips:
-No armor abilities.
-Bring equipment back, that was pretty cool.
-No sprint.
-Bring back dual-wielding.
-No loadouts.
-Bring back playing as an Elite.
-Tone down Sniper effectiveness on vehicles.
just examples 343 should probably look into.
