Spartan 4's in Campaign.

I really hope they’re not like Noble team in reach where they can take a -Yoink- load of damage and never die (or atleast get downed). It annoyed the crap out of me that no one in noble team died unless it was a cut-scene.

Like on Tip of the Spear, Kat would take a fuel rod to the face and will still live, i take a fuel rod in the face and i get killed instantly.

what i want to see is that spartan 4’s won’t be able to absorb all of the damage in the world, i want to see them die or get downed and you can revive them when all of the enemy’s are dead.

what do you guys think?

i for one just want allies that can at least take down a grunt without having me be there to babysit them

and for any allied S4’s,
if they are invincible, don’t make them useless
and if they aren’t invincible, still, don’t make them useless

and for God’s sake, Make them better drivers than Kat

that’s all i ask…well, not all, but it’s the bare minimum

So has it been confirmed that spartan 4’s will be in the campaign? Because I prefer chief being a lone wolf with a few marines here and there like halo 1-3

They almost certainly will. Between screenshots of Chief with them, and the fact that Infinity has three squads of them on board, if they weren’t in campaign it would make no -Yoinking!- sense.

Then I really hope its for one or 2 missions and not the whole game.

Hmm, thruster pack+halo AI…let’s hope these guys aren’t the spiritual successors to Reach’s extremely talented Bull Frogs.

Also, I kinda want more variety, I hope they don’t all share the same model, but I doubt it will happen.

this too, I want my companions to be badass for -Yoink-'s sake. It’s ridiculous on how useless noble team was, no wonder Reach fell and most of the spartans are dead

It should be like Republic Commando where when a close teammate dies there’s an option to revive him so when they take enough damage and “die” MC can like bring like a Health Pack and revive him.

eh, i think they’ll look the same due to the fact that spartan II’s were meant to look the same so i don’t think that they’ll steer too far off that rode.

but maybe for four player co-op the other three players can wear their armor

It’s always bothered me how underdeveloped friendly AI are in Halo games.

If they are merely distractions, then why bother giving them scripting? It just puts a load on the game.

Fire teams was introduced in Reach but they still die quickly. There is an abundance of health packs on most levels. It should be possible to heal allies. It’s a tactical decision to either save yourself or to save an ally and benefit from the sacrifice.

they didnt die because they were important characters. why would you want them to die any way?

I’m not too keen on having to revive ai allies,that is if my progress is dependent upon their survival, Gears of war 2 is a perfect example. That campaign even on insane was no problem save for the stupidity of my ai ally Dom. He would run out in the open, get downed and unless I saved him, I would have to restart the checkpoint. I doubt a system like this would be implemented in halo but I just wanted to put my concerns out there.

Hopefully there not useless as Kat’s driving :confused:
