They already said in the wiki that the I were the Failures II had the best defensive armor III were good at using Covenant technology (Armor Abilities and IV are pretty much them combined, but their armor is weaker
In terms of armor and augmentations, I’d say they would be better than the Spartan-IIs. But in terms of experience, I’d give it to the IIs. Still though, the IVs are veterans and the best of the best the UNSC have to offer, so they are no slouches.

I don’t know, Spartan 3’s wasn’t as strong as the Spartan 2’s, but I don’t think the spartan 4’s are as strong as the chief, they might of gotten the same treatments the S3’s got.

LOL how are Spartan IVs veterans if IIs (Chief) has more experience.

I think S-II vs S-III strength is debatable. We only had one fight between the two and the S-II was wearing armor that further improved their reflexes, the S-III had crappy SPI armor that did nothing. They got augmentations delivered by different means that did the same thing.

Because the Spartan-IVs are volunteers from existing special forces units within the UNSC. You don’t seem to understand what “veteran” means.
Spartan IIs and IIIs got the same augmentations, the difference being that SIIs had complex surgeries that resulted in extremely high casualties, whereas the SIIIs were given drugs for the augmentation process, which yielded almost if not zero casualties.
SIIIs were only vasty inferior to the SIIs because their armor was not as powerful. SIIs were walking tanks in their armor, SIIIs were stealthy and relied more on teamwork to take down targets.
I’d imagine SIVs are around as powerful as SIIs. They have the same augmentations, and are selected from the UNSC’s best troops, so ODSTs and the like, which are great soldiers, but haven’t been trained and indoctrinated like the SIIs were since they were six. MJOLNIR [GEN2] for the SIVs is probably just as powerful as the MJOLNIR Chief has, but probably isn’t as resilient since it’s lightweight, with trade off being that they have more agility in combat compared to the more tank like MJOLNIR Mk VI that the Chief has.

Sorry it was on the pedia,but i’ll just sum it up for you. Pretty much, the IV were pretty much a upgraded version of the III’s,but they said that the III’s had the weakest armor out of all of them.
Y’know, I hate to be that guy, but i’ve seen a lot of these variations of “who would win in a fight” thread while lurking and tbh they are never really productive in any way.
from a gameplay and marketing perspective Bungie/MS/343/mass market/fan etc Chief > all other Spartans/Soldiers/whatever because he is your gameplay avatar.
This doesn’t need to mean that anyone else isn’t a hero or a badass or brave, or experienced or in any other way lacking. So why do these threads continue to exist?

Also S-IV’s contain other members of the S-II & S-III programs, are we supposed to have some tiered hierarchy going on there based on what combination of programs they participated in?
I remember some time ago on NeoGaf, Frankie said that the S-IVs are just as capable as any S-II.

The mainstream IIIs had the weakest armor, but they were more than capable of wearing the same MJOLNIR the S-IIs wear.
