Spartan 2's in Halo 4's Campaign??

I have found some evidence that Spartan 2’s will possibly be making an appearance in Halo 4.

Lets start off with the fact that this game is a direct sequel to Halo 3.
Now at the ending of Halo 3, we are at The Voi Memorial, which was a tribute to the soldiers of the UNSC who gave their lives during the 28-year Human-Covenant War. A number of survivors from the Battle of Installation 00 attended the memorial, including Gunnery Sergeants Stacker and Reynolds, Private First Class Chips Dubbo, and the current Arbiter, Thel 'Vadam, who was the only Sangheili to attend the memorial. Various other UNSC personnel were also present, including ONI Commander-in-Chief Admiral Margaret Parangosky, Captain Serin Osman, CPO Franklin Mendez, as well as the surviving SPARTAN-IIs.
That info could be found in this article.

The highlighted stuff, according to halopedian, could be found in Halo: Glasslands on page 414. Now i googled Halo: Glasslands page 414 and Fred-104 's halopedian page came up.

This could be found at the end of the article
“Fred, along with the rest of the surviving SPARTAN-IIs, were present in the Voi Memorial ceremony on March 3, 2553.”

My theory is that, since the covenant will be making a return, the UNSC wont be too far behind them, and since Fred is still alive, there is a possibility he will be there with them concluding with Fred and John 117s reunion

I’ve had a theory for the past several years (even before Halo 4’s reveal) that Fred, Kelly and Linda will be in Halo 4 as co-op characters.

> I’ve had a theory for the past several years (even before Halo 4’s reveal) that Fred, Kelly and Linda will be in Halo 4 as co-op characters.

and sir, it looks as though ur theory might be correct ! and that seems very possible, instead of playing as the arbiter and 2 other elites, youd play as fred kelly and linda. that would be awesome

It would make sense to. Why would 343i/Bungie keep these three characters, John’s best friends, alive for the past 10 years while everybody else has died?
343i introduced “lesser” fans to Halsey with Halo: Legends. They also showed Fred, Kelly and Linda. I say that was done for this.

in halo ce it said MC was the last of his kind, which i took it as being the last spartan but as the story went on spartan 3’s came into the picture so it must mean he is the last spartan 2, why does the halo story contradict it self sometimes, MC being the last of its kind (spartan 2)is a big statement to add to the story and should be followed through to the end.

bungie has seemed to leave alot out. i really think that 343i will do this. hopefully they will stick to having a bit more detail, which would make a longer and more worth while campaign.

you know what, i was just going to say that. i believed the same thing, and i thought that is why we never saw another spartan in the main trilogy.

The Halo canon was not set down in Halo CE. They had no intentions of really spreading this out. There are more Spartan-II’s, there are III’s, and there are now IV’s. John is not the last Spartan-II left and never was. So they should introduce the other 3 in the new trilogy.

It didn’t literally mean he was the last S-II, just that we was the last known S-II. Every single book set after Halo 1 timeline-wise (First Strike, Ghosts of Onyx, Glasslands, anything else i might’ve missed) has S-II’s, it’s not like this is some sudden new thing. Hell, unless i’m mistaken the existence of the S-III’s were hinted right in the first book, Fall of Reach, so they weren’t a surprise thing either if you were paying attention.

There’s been retcons and the like throughout the canon, and the standard procedure is new over old but games over books when it comes to contradictions, but it’s not a contraction with Halo 1. Read the books.

It doesn’t say he’s THE last spartan II, it says one of the last spartan IIs

In terms of the military, John-117 was the last active spartan II. All the rest were either MIA, KIA or otherwise unavailable for action. It’s entirely possible that the ones we know are alive have since found a way out.

I do agree with you in Fred, Kelly, Linda being in the Campaign somewhere, no matter how big of a role they play. I know a lot of people say, “It’s a massive universe, you can’t just keep making stuff happen that isn’t reality”. but to be honest, this is Halo, it’s science fiction, and the whole basis of reuniting with his former squad mates would fit for an amazing storyline.

The question that does arouse is playing them as campaign co-op characters is the first few missions. I highly doubt they would introduce them that early in the campaign. It would be kind of a spoiler if 4 player co-op starting the campaign and you see their character models, i’d assume they would be pretty recognisable.

Perhaps everyone starts as John just like in the first three Halo games (and ODST), and once the other Spartans are introduced then the players will control them instead.

It would be great to see some other Spartan-IIs in Halo 4. I’d really like to see the Arbiter return as well, but I imagine that won’t happen until at least Halo 5. I feel that John and the Arbiters relationship has not fully run its course.

Spartan I.I
The children of the SPARTAN-Is are sometimes referred to as Spartan 1.1s. There are sixteen Spartan 1.1s, including Janissary James and Kevin Morales. Due to their parents’ augmentations, the Spartan 1.1s had to receive injections in order to ensure normal growth without defects. A small vigilante group of SPARTAN 1.1s, seemingly led by Kevin Morales, formed a plan to fight the Covenant. However, before this could come to fruition, the Covenant invasion of Earth began. Their whereabouts following the attack on Earth are unknown.

This was the feeling he got in CE because after the events of Reach There was not possibility in his mind that any other Spartans could have survived though Lucy was on the PoA the whole time but her likeliness of survival was low

They thought they all died at reach at the time but some survived.

Okay correct me if I’m wrong but I think Jorge from halo reach is actually missing not dead. cause he was not in an explosion but a catastrophic slipspace malfunction just like how chief got stranded It would be cool if Jorge made an appearance in halo 4. just my opinion

The only surviving member for Nobel teams is Jun and Franky said there not planning to delve to much into his story at this time

I’m fairly sure there was a reissue of the fall of reach novel with an extra chapter explaining jun’s fate. It was my understanding that he sacrificed himself to protect doctor halsey…
