Spart Ops Big Let Down This Week

Come on, spart ops is getting very boring - you are putting way too much work into something that isn’t even that fun, especially when half of the people are capped out allready. This week was horrid and simply not fun at all…
I like the videos but do that as a side project and put it on youtube or something because I don’t feel like I am part of the show in the missions at all. It’s still repetative, laggy and boring.
We don’t even get the satisfaction of playing spart ops offline. When you first advertised this there was no mention on gold or online access being required to play spart ops - sure it’s posted everywhere now that people are complaining, but if you go back to all the old spart op advertising it does not say this at all.
Just please give this up and concentrate on fixing multiplayer and either let us keep these maps and episodes offline and add arcade = fun stuff like - points, grunt birthday party etc. or just give us fire fight back. Atleast with firefight we got to keep the maps and gameplay without being a gold member or offline and it’s still fun.
Spart ops is boring, the videos are cool, but it’s still so repetative. I felt this week that I was just going back and playing chapter 6 again. Yawn.
They could even take some of these stages and make an arcade firefight type matches - I hope they change this and make it fun.
Again - give spart op access to everyone - offline or online - gold or no gold - we paid for this content and we should have it no matter what.

It’s over powering the AFKs.

Agreed. I think 343 felt really lazy for Ep. 8. One of the missions lasted literally like 5 minutes.

Wow, we get 1 mediocre week and automatically the whole thing is crap. This episode was still better then most of the episodes in the first half.

I hope they go out with 2 bangs for Spops. 1 for next week and the one after that. I want to see some very diverse gameplay. They need to mix it up some more. Lets have a sky battle and take some banshees. Will we fight the Harvester soon (which is temporarily disabled). The CGI is always great to watch, but the gameplay doesn’t even match up half ways…

There’s no doubt that we will be returning to the same few maps…

The cinematic actually made me excited for the story, but true I would like Crimson Team more involved in the story next time. Maybe if they bring Spartan Ops back in Halo 5 they can use in game graphics and our own character models in the cutscenes to give us a little more involvment? Add a few voices to choose from that would voice our spartans during the cutscene? Like Firefight voices but for the whole game, no multiplayer dialouge though because spartans are spartans and should not talk in combat. I understand the more relaxed Spartan IVs, but if I play Halo 5 and I hear a Spartan II say something during combat I’ll flip -Yoink-.
Anyway I think by using in game cutscenes and using the players character models and allowing us to modify their voice it would for one give us a deeper connection to our Spartans, but also allow us to connect more deeply to the story of Spartan Ops. As for this week’s missions, I didn’t think they were that bad, but thats of course my opinion.
Finally in relation to connecting deeper with our spartans… How about the ability to take our helmets off and have some deeper customization in that aspect, let us see our faces in the cutscenes. Halo has always been real big about customization, and it has typically wanted us to put ourselves in the role of the Spartan but why can’t we make our spartans how we want them to be in game too, not just in our heads. I know, my nerdy little wishlist that I will never get, I’ll just continue to modify Halo in my head…

Seriously no one else liked the Covenant Mortar’s that shot giant plasma balls? Or the fact we got a quad Warthog Mission?

Little things like being able to actually move around in the Phantom and wait to be dropped off, makes a difference. I don’t want third person animation of a Phantom rolling in to drop us off, when in fact, we are just spawning on the ground. Is that too much for them to do?

Little things like this would be nice, but I would prefer them to focus on gameplay first, which I think they have that down now, so hopefully next time they can do cool little things like that.

Some rail shooting like the falcon mission in Reach would be nice also driving the pelican with your buddies would be a nice touch too except they need to make allied vehicles indestructible because one guy would need to go in a banshee and would get super trolled online.

Wouldnt really call it repetative people put too much emphasis on the button pressing. Its just the usual makeing the player feel more involved. I agree they could do better but really makeing high quality missions take time and a week isnt long enough.

I havnt played it as im at 130 and have 1250gs so there isnt much point.
Raise the level cap to at least 200 and soon.

Spartan ops has story that should be the reason for playing it, Multiplayer is for points.

The Multi Player side of Halo 4 is getting noticed by 343 a lot lately. They,ll even nerf your weapons for ya, and give you a ranking system so you Sargents can brag about sniping a Captain.

Like it or not, I bought Halo 4 for its campaigns and I suspect there are a lot of others like me as well.

Spartan Ops to us story line players makes Halo 4 all the more worthwhile. So therefor you mp guys do not in anyway, shape, or form. Speak for us.

On that note 343. I would like to be able to play Halos main campaign by killing all covy/forrunner enemies on ledgendary even with all the skulls turned on. So please do a patch were we can have enough UNSC ammo to do the job.

We’ve had more than one mediocre week.

I agree, but I still don’t think they have the gameplay quite down yet. Having. Having limited lives or checkpoints would improve it. There’s absolutely no consequences for playing spops recklessly. It’s too easy in the sense that we can just respawn over and over again to finish the mission. There needs to be more a challenge.

Hmm, the only thing that ticked me off was the missions with the lazy Spartans… what a bunch of YOINK!, had marines that did better jobs then them and never ran away either.

Like the intro to the EDIT: the silent cartographer from Halo CE?

A good example of something like this - I’ve been playing the recent Crysis 3 MP demo. One of the game modes, Hunted, starts off with you sitting in a ship alongside and facing your fellow team mates. It’s real time, so you can look around, and you see their gamertags above their head.

Then, something happens and it all goes bad…

It’s a simple little thing, but the immersion factor is incredible. If something like this was added to Spartan OPS, it’d make it that little bit better, IMHO

Thank you.
I like you can we be friends?

Honestly my only complaint is the lag. I was get very frustrated because I would get into the heart of the missions and would lag so bad i couldnt play, shoot straight as if my trigger pulls had a 1 sec delay, and just getting dropped from the game having to play the rest by myself in the middle of 10 covenant or prometheans. It got old fast. Cut scenes were amazing but I was really hoping the actually interact with main characters during the missions for once but that didn’t happen which really disappointed me.
